My Valver took a turn for the worse, and ended up as scrap metal last weekend. Sills were non-existent, and have deemed the car unusable due to it's lack of safety. A crash would mean no body to withstand any impact, and the driver (most likely me) would be killed.
So I exchanged my 16v engine and some notes to a friend, who helped me sort out this little number. It had a running issue where is would just cut out, my friend had replaced the common offenders but didn't get a chance to replace the crankshaft sensor. We took the old one off of the valver which was in great condition and replaced the 8v's one with it. The old one had exposed wires. Thankfully, the running issue has now been fixed and it is running smooth.
We replaced the suspension with my coilovers off the 16v seeing as the Anni's were shagged anyway, and also brought back my polished TT wheels seeing as the summer almost officially here.
The car is in VERY good condition and has no dents, slight few marks dotted about but nothing major, and overall the paintwork is superb. My friend is a welder and took this on as it was hopefully to be an easy fix, and it was very tidy and literally rust free. Cleaned it today with Chelsea (who has named her Ruby  ) and all is great, here are some snappy snaps.

Thanks Billy. :afro:
Looks to be a minter Mate :afro:
It has a couple of small issues that need rectifying but overall it's much better than many other MK3s out there, I don't really want to do much to this either due to it being an Anni, so will leave it fairly standard.
-
Looking good shady  and at least its one shade :lipsrsealed:

Liking this dude! so um black grille, more lows (when insurance allows ) and job done?
-
No matte job for this one I'm afraid. Dubsport, black grill will be on the cars and I'll redo the wing mirrors at the same time as they are a bit worse for wear. More lows and then I'll do some interior lighting mods. The blue/red lighting scheme would fit in quite nicely me thinks.
-
yeah sounds good mate! Im a bit of an OEM+ geek now  so your plans sound spot on :afro:
-
I like this
Anni club FTW

Drop me a PM when you want switches. Got various switches, some red some blue, if you want it easy.

Each to their own Lenny Boy, if I was to be completely honest, I think MK3s with Jap-inspired bodykits and blue rear lights are
But we all like what we like and shouldn't judge others for what they like, you bloody car-racist!!!!

I cant help it mate! I hate red!
I wouldnt even have a Ferrari in red (if I could afford one!)

Only taken me since Saturday to come and comment on this, sorry!
Looks fairly tidy, i knew as soon as you told me about this it would not be long till those wheels were on!
Has it got all the Anni specs inside too? Did it have the RXIIs before you swapped over?

What are you apolagising for?
Didn't come with Anni wheels, I'll get a set eventually. Had to rock the polished rimmage though, let them shine in the sun. All other Anni spec if there though, gear knob, handbrake, leather steering wheel with red stitching, Anni seats and red belts. All groovy baby!
-
looks nice Shady  now you have two reds to take care of  one being a machine and one being a organic life form,so who's gonna get the most attention?

I don't want to mess around with the headline, as cool as that would look if I were to make it match the seats, I can't be doing with the stress of fitting it back perfectly. My Valver pissed me off taking the headliner out to get to the boot's bolt.

I'd like to make this as mint as possible before any kind of conversion, but a 1.8T would be something I'd seriously consider later on down the line.
Oh and I'm not paying for your travel, I know how much it cost you to get over here for JKM.
-
Surely this 8v will be way fast enough for you!
You never revved the 16v coz a work colleague told you it was unsafe!
-
Beautiful looking car buddy in a great colour.
Need to put the red bumper striping on mine now to complete the Anni rep look.
-
Oh and of course at least one of our Mk3 Mods is still in a boat!

Mystic blue is a lovely colour for Mk3s... So long as you don't put blue lights and Jap body kits on them....

They look better in person, although they were locked away since December, and have suffered a little water damage which sucks but they polish up well which is nice. Cost me £150 to get done. I will be wanting some Anni wheels for the winter so will get a set when I get a chance nearer the end of the year. You have any plans for them or are you keeping them standard?
-

What Jap kits? Mine came from Portugal.
-
not sure mate ,nearly bought a black refurbed set the other week but it fell through so unsure whether to keep them original or get them refurbed in black as they looked rather nice lol
-
Vento front like drews one?

I couldn't do that to the Anni.
-
I couldn't do that to the Anni.
Why? You swapped it for an engine so they cant be that rare lol. Drews looked awesome.

I'd rather use the money I'd spend on a Vento front and put that towards making this one a minter. Drew's did look awesome, I saw it in zee flesh, however I'd like to keep this one OEM+fresh!
-
no hella qauds or exhaust then?
-
no hella qauds or exhaust then?
I don't know about Hella Twins (Quins for those that remember ) but an exhaust will be put on at the right time. I'd like a 2.5"/3" twin, my last one was a 3.5" and it was quite big.
-

I wonder who else has got a black front grill and red/blue interior light theme

Thats the only bad thing with Annis you either mod it or leave it alone.I was going to keep mine factory but I was getting board fast so decided to change it to how I liked it and glad I did as it gets way more attention than it did when it was standard but thats just my view everyones different but either way yours looks sweet shady
-
I have modded GTi rear lights? Does that count?
-
Now youve modded the lights its not a original Anni no more

looks good

I've lost count! Is this the 4th?
Third time lucky for me I hope.
In all seriousness, this is something I want to keep on top of as it is a rarer car than my previous 2. It's in good hands.

-
Well I'm not the kind to really embarrass you by posting a thread link!
But mind you as its only an 8v you wont be going very fast anyway! :smug:
-
It's not bad in all honesty. I can feel the difference from the 16v in the high rev range but low down it's still a puller. Anyway, your opinion doesn't count Len because it never does.
-
My opinion may not count but RR power figures do!

your right cos it would be in GREAT hands then :smug:
but hey, i might have a mk3 to fettle soon anyway  :lipsrsealed:

When I compared an 8v to my 16v, the 8v did seem to pull better lower down, but not for long once the 16v kicked in

Nowt wrong with me, the GL was a trooper, and previous owner of the valver did a f**king sh!t job of sorting out the rust. Bodge job central.
Anni is in tip top condition and just needs a few things done to bring her back tp her former self.

If it starts to rust, don't bodge it?
Sounds like this ones a keeper

How much was it?
-
Was a while ago but I paid £30 for it plus the rest of the matching locks.
-
Ignition switches only cost around 8 quid or so.

I need the barrel too though. This will mean I need a new key?
-
Id have thought so, has the car been broken in to at some point then?
-
Think it may have, upon installing my sound system, I found various shards of glass under the carpet. Speaking of which, the installation as far as wiring etc. went really well, but the final outcome didn't. My amp is in protection mode for some reason so need to try sourcing the problem tomorrow.
Will be taking apart the old valver tomorrow as well, engine out and anything else that can be salvaged.

Yes it will as the Anni key is coded.

Eagle eyes there  ,bet no else spotted that
-
I think they're a pair of drivers seats too...
To the untrained eye they just look like normal annie seats, no way i'd be forking out £750 for them especially with them not even being a proper matching pair
-
I think they're a pair of drivers seats too...
Don't they have the levers on both sides?

So my second and fourth gear aren't going in anymore. WTF?!

Car number 3 heading to the scrap yard then? :lipsrsealed:
-
Yup, had enough of it.
-
The seats are Recaro all recaro front seats have pull leavers both sides  he used his original anni seat inners and had them put onto those recaros pictured.I agree there well over priced but like most things people try there luck and then come down to earth realistic value I would say £350 as the fronts are spotless and its complete with door cards and a mint rear bench but doubt he would consider that at the moment
-
You aint havin much luck mate.
£750 is the car comin with it? I wouldve thought more around the £350-£450 mark.

It's okay. I'm going to sort it out next week when the repair kit comes. On a positive note I have managed to install my sound system correctly!
The Anni I got for a complete bargain, so even with the few issues I have, once it's all sorted it'll still be cheaper than buying a 8v GTi in okay nick.

So now all my gears apart from fifth don't work. Excellent. Driving home in only fifth was not fun and j don't think the clutch liked it at all.

shady, have you considered public transport

Is it a linkage or gearbox problem

I'd still put my money on the linkage!

shady, have you considered public transport
Still very cheap chuff  I'll get this sorted hopefully soon, but funds are crap at the moment.
-
sounds a nightmare! as wayne says do you know if its the linkage or the gearbox? have you had a look under the bonnet and checked the play in the linkage?
-
Good luck dude... Think it's about time you had some automotive success.
-
Temporarily fixed until I get a repair kit. The part that connects to the weight to the right, the end of that there is a hole (spline?) and the teeth had rounded. Also there is some play in selectin gears and this is due to the ball, not sure of it correct name but that part will be included in the repair kit. At least it's driveable for now.
-
That's good then, at least at ya don't have to pull the box off!!
Good luck!
-
That's good then, at least at ya don't have to pull the box off!!

Yeah thankfully. Although I've had a horrible clutch smell over the past couple of days but not as strong as when I put it under strain in fifth gear. Hoping it's just calming down after the onslaught I gave it.
New part has been ordered from VW, £9.69! Should have it tomorrow.
-
haha
give it a beasting with the new bit on, sure it be reet :D
-
haha
give it a beasting with the new bit on, sure it be reet :D
Not giving it a beasting until I at least have got the gear linkage kit, but I can't really afford to get that right now. Got some play in the gear shifting so want that sorted for 'positive gear change'.
Still need to get my camber and tracking done too as currently my front wheels have got 'stance'.
-
Mine had front stance a little while ago... had to buy a new pair of front tyres every month.
To remedy it until I could get it tracked I just loosened the hub/strut bolts and reset the camber which did a pretty good job of saving rubber.
-
Think I need to get them done asap, I have been running a few days like this, and have brand new Falkens on the front. Don't want to feck them up.
-
Yeah, whack the wheels off, loosen those bolts and tug on the hub at least that way you'll get slightly more even wear...
-
How are you finding the Falkens bud?
-
How are you finding the Falkens bud?
I really like them. I haven't driven with them properly at the moment due to camber and tracking but when they were on the valver they were superb.
-
Weird isnt it? I HATED the falkens I had :undecided:
Hope car is sorted soon :afro:

Gear selection is a hell of a lot better since replacing the bracket. Just need to replace the ball mechanism to stop so much slack whilst changing gear.

I agree, It really breaks up the mass of in your face redness and makes the car stand out from the other standard red mk3's on here.
-
It's currently a poor gloss finished job from a previous owner, so plans are to matte black the roof and wing mirrors.
-
Why the matte finish, I think gloss works well with the red coachwork. How about a satin finish to meet somewhere in the middle?
-
I meant satin.
I'm going to be having a play around with an idea or two in a couple of weeks, in time for Volksfest so keep your eyes peeled. :)

Black grill slats are on the list of 'To-Do'. In fact, just for my reference I'm going to make a to do list here right now:
To-Do List
• Front left wheel bearing needs replacing
• Repaint black roof
• Repaint wing mirrors black
• Sort out hole in driver's seat bolster
• Replace shaft relay bush
• Paint grill slats black
• Wheels :lipsrsealed:
I will add to this list and strike through what I've done as time goes on.

What are you planning with wheels then as it looks really good on the polished TT rims.

GLWS
Sure someone with a GTI will be in the market for polished baby comps - they're better looking than the big boys and a more sensible size for a mk3.
-
Cheers buddy. Got them up on a few other places too. I prefer them to the Comps for the same reason you said, much more suitable size than the 17" beasts.
-
So today I changed the ignition switch, all by myself.
After input from another thread by members saying it could be a switch issue, I took it upon myself to try and correct the problem. Said problem was that when turning the key I had to lift it up slightly to get the engine to start. I had taken the ignition switch from my old valver when that was being broken so I used this as a replacement.
Here is the U-Joint, known for being a complete b!tch to get the nut and bolt to part from the main joint. This is what took up most of my time and it wasn't comfortable lying on my back trying to do so either:
Once this bolt was out, there is a allen bolt holding the column in place that's directly to the left of the ignition barrel location (other side of the steering wheel). I undid this and thankfully the steering rack just came straight out without much problem. DIYs I've read have suggested it might not always be that easy, sometimes involved having to chisel or knock the U-Joint with a flat-headed screwdriver, but this wasn't necessary in my case. Also note before pulling out the rack you need to disconnect all wires leading to the steering wheel.
I'm not 100% sure what this bit if but it was around my ignition barrel:
Steering rack out with everything still attached:
Old switch to the left, valver's one to the right. You can tell the different and why I had an issue:
The infamous small screw that holds the switch in, quite fiddly to get to but I found a cheap small Halfrauds screwdriver did the trick, other suggest a jeweler's screwdriver as they are very thin:
All I had to do was put it back together. The tricky part was the U-Joint and putting the steering rack back in, I found the part that connects to the U-Joint (in the spring area) was a pain to locate the right position, but I got there in the end, put the bolt back through and made sure everything was back the way it was meant to be. Took me about an hour.
So my problem regarding the switch is fine, but my barrel needs replacing at some point as the engine will still run if the key is taken out.
-
Nice work!
The ring part you didn't know about is the reciever for the OE immobiliser
-
Nice work!

Cheers buddy. Just hope I put the steering rack properly on at the U-Joint otherwise I'll be driving along and lose my steering. :lipsrsealed:
How does that part work exactly then? As it wasn't directly connected to anything by the barrel/switch.
-
Doesn't need to be, its all to do with proximity to the chip in the key
-
Ah okay, so would that mean my barrel isn't directly linked to the immobiliser?
-
no, its all in that ring arrangement. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but my old car was a 94 with no immob and had no ring. My new one is a 97 with an immob and has this ring. I'm thinking 2+2=4
-

This is a similar situation to me. I had a '94 valver, it had no ring and now my '96 Anni does. As the barrel is dodgy I was thinking of using the valver's old one as I know that didn't have a problem.
My other thought now is I have a spare key from the valver, I'm not sure if it has a chip in it or not but I want to get it recoded to the Anni as I only have 1 key.
-
I wouldn't have thought the valver's key would have a chip in it full stop, and therefore couldn't get it programmed for your anni.
I'm sure a key cutters could cut you the key for the barrel and program a chip for the anni no problem.
I only had one key for mine when i got it, the spare had been bent clean in half, so was useless. Got a quote for £45 for a new key. part of the reason I went for the rclick central locking kit in the end, two free key blanks the key cutters did for free. Just cut my bent key up to get at the chip and stuck it in
-
The 1994 will not have a chip, so you will need to get a new coded key cut to suit.
Supprised you left the steering wheel on, easier with it removed.
-
Supprised you left the steering wheel on, easier with it removed.
I found it easier with it on, it gives something to pull from when removing, and something to push on when putting it back.

I need my nearside front wheel bearing replaced. I can source the part for £20. A local garage want £80 to do it, but it needs to be done as I have a very distracting humming noise coming from that location now. I had the car jacked up and there is a fair bit of play in the wheel.
£80 sound good? That's VAT included. Another garage wanted £113 before VAT.
-
Whack the hub off and take it down to the garage with the bearing, someone in there will press a new one in for a tenner if you don't ask for a receipt.

£80 inc. VAT is a really good price actually.
It can be quite a hard job, probably worth the extra £70 to bypass the grazed knuckles and hours of not knowing what the fück you're up to!

Small update:
Took the Anni to the garage today, to have the front left wheel bearing replaced. I had asked them to check the right one too as I wasn't 100% sure it was the left one. Took the part in with me and left it with them whilst I went to work.
I went back at the end of the days and one of the mechanics dealing with my car had told me the following:
- Rear left wheel bearing was gone, so he replaced that (this was causing a loud humming noise from the rear which is now gone).
- Brake pads were f**ked on the front, about 1mm left if that, so those were changed too.
- Left front wheel bearing wasn't replaced, the right one was, but the noise from the front remains.
He asked me to take it for a drive and he came with me, he immediately said "I wish I'd changed the left one now, sitting in the passenger seat I can tell it is the front left bearing that is gone."
The end result is I'm not having to pay for the right bearing to be replaced, saving me £80, and my total bill is £180 once the left bearing is replaced.
So all in all it's not a bad result, 2 front wheel bearings being replaced, rear left wheel bearing part supplied by them and replaced, front brake pads supplied by them and replaced.
Cant' complain really.

thoroughly clean the area surrounding the bits you are replacing... then look for water deposits on the area after a drive... should be easy to spot
-
Advantage of G12+ is you get lovely pink deposits around any leaks. Thats how I found my radiator was seeping.

-
Annified. I like that.

It's gloss black at the moment but I want to do it satin to match the wheels. :)
Cheers Dom.

TT Comps looked far better

TT Comps looked far better

Meh - stop being a sheep and re-fit the posh wheels
-
Wherry's posh wheels...
-
I do love the TT wheels but want Anniage.
In that case get them refurbed in silver or dark grey.
-
Wherry's posh wheels...
This. Lol!
I take what people say on board but at the end of the day, it's my car. I'll sheep if I want or I'll be "different" if I want. Currently I'm wanting to maintain original Anniage which is what I'm doing, because I want to.
And Rhyso, who was a sheep with the same wheels as over half the forum when he owned a MK4? :lipsrsealed:
-
Still sh!t second time around. Very 80's!
-
Something isn't right. Love the wheels but I think the TT comps just filled the space more.
Lower it.
-
It will be lowered more next month when insurance allows. The TTs had the exact same tyres on.
-

REALLY?
Ah well I reckon it will look spot on when it's lowered.
-
I do love the TT wheels but want Anniage.

This - or maybe even just the outer rims in silver. I think the red makes them look smaller than they actually are.
P.s. I knew they'd be BBS of some nature.
-

REALLY?
Ah well I reckon it will look spot on when it's lowered.
Not allowed anymore than 50mm so it's on the limit. I'm probably going to go with Greenlight next month. :) I'll be tucking them a lot as the arches are rolled from a previous owner.
For good measurement to the haterz () the TT wheels are no longer in my possession, they now belong to Mr VR6 Wherry.
-
I think they look awesome, but who am i to talk about taste.. Shady has always loved Red rims, now he has 5!
I say spacers, camber shims and some lows and that is sorted! Get the roof done the same colour black and then get black pillars and headlining and maybe red handles?
Thanks, i see people really don't follow my thread... :undecided:
-
I really like what Dazzawest has done with his interior, I might look at doing something like that someday soon. Priority is more lows next month. Spacers are also on the agenda too. Flash Red interior door handles?
And don't worry Jamie, I follow your thread.

That needs spacers
-
Shiny. :afro:
Bet it's nice having a car that's all the same colour.
-

That's the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the pic

and blacken them trims foool!

Funny you should say that, because actually, the passenger door is a slightly different colour red. :lipsrsealed:
That needs spacers

Spacers will be bought soon after dropping it on it's arse. VRDan has a set of rear spacers I'm going to blag. Think they are 20mm, maybe 25.
and blacken them trims foool!
That was the plan on Thursday, but had such crap weather I couldn't be bothered.
-
Front number plate is not straight btw
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one with ocd here.
-
Front number plate is not straight btw
That's hilarious.. Especially after he took pleasure telling me that the front one on the cabby wasn't straight! At least mine was straight in photos! :smug:
-
It's bent. The far right of the plate looks like it's been pulled. Technically it is straight.
I didn't take pleasure Guy, I only raised your awareness.
-
Spacers and more lows bud will be evven more awesome..er :afro:
-
like the wheels but they look lost and the colour choice does them no favours at all.. should have been red centres and silver lip or a silver lip on satin black.
Red lip reminds me of them LED dust caps you used to be able to buy that illuminate when u drive (they were not cool)
-
I did say to Kirk about red centes and silver/polished lips but I think he went for this colour for ease of cleansing.
Must agree with dubsport about lows and spacers, will finish it off. :smug:
-
Sort the trim out so it's actually black! also i would try and carry on the pin stipe down the side. Some red door handles and some lamix headlight tint and it will look ace!
-
his colour choice makes no difference in terms of cleaning, if he is happy thats the main thing but this could have looked a zillion times better in my opinion
Ben has some of these rims and he has done a red centre with the lip a similar colour to my rims and they look like a complete different rim
imagine these spaced out so they are not lost in the arches with a drop of at least -80mm
(http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/1914/img0693o.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/850/img0693o.jpg/)

They would look loads better tbh
-
Those red RXIIs do look pretty awesome, however I wanted to break up the amount of red on the car. I'm happy with them so that's what's important.
I know more lows are needed, and spacers. All in due time my friends.
-
will deffo look alot different lower with spacers (will transform its looks no end )
as i say maate, aslong as you are happy at then end of the day its all good...
wouldnt add a pin stripe to sides tho personally as annies never had that
Di you get your drivers seat sorted out ?
-
Yeah I'm definitely loving them, especially catching a glimpse in a reflection! I'm not adding a pinstripe around the sides as I don't like the look of it personally.
My insurance is up for renewal in a month so I'll be making sure they know it's slammed. What size spacers should I be looking for then?
-
What size spacers should I be looking for then?
20mm rear and 15mm front
-
id have a word with benvictors he can make you some, think his are 20mm or so, but best to speak to him really - he knows his sh!t mate

Another vote for speaking to Ben, I was chatting to him about them at the RR day and he seemed to know his stuff :afro:
-
Big thanks to benvictors! Sent me a new bush to stop the play in my gears. I even did this all by myself! many thanks to Ben for the advice and part. Changing gear feels so much better now, nice and solid.

did he mention i rubbed it on some dog sh!t before he posted it haha
-
No but he did mention you stuck your willy through it, which is quite impressive given how small the hole actually is.
-
Any news on spacers?

Nice comeback

Something is on the cards but nothing happening for a couple months.
-
did u ask ben about spacers too mate ? honestly his are better quality than ones i bought for alot of money!
-

maybe all black with silver/red bolts????
just my opinion... still looks  as though.
-
I got the same reaction with my old BBS with the red rim its marmite you either love it or you dont I think they look sweet but I would get her lower to the ground and lose the mud guards  piccy of my old gurl rockin red lips

Yours was my inspiration Blu, my problem is insurance, can't wind down the coilies until insurance is sorted.
-
I still quite like the red rim, could possibly look better polished though :undecided:
Also still needs spacers

Shut up Wherry, you know Shady has no taste.

I said in the other thread, I like it, so f**k the rest of you.

Trim tape and lower.
Rear quarter respray?

Trim tape? No no no.
Lower? Yes.
Respray? No.

Rear mud flaps have been removed, that was the other difference. Hoping to satin black the roof in the next couple of weeks.

Jamie, cheers fella. I don't care what the haterz say. I wouldn't change my wheels for anyone, regardless of comments. I think they look awesome. Especially now it's sitting better.
Shaun, I was tempted to take a trip over to IOW and do a recovery mission on the wheels. Poor things.

Thanks man. I do miss the valver, but I do love the Anni.

Bellend, you're such a Bellend lol. My engine has gone into my mates MK2, on cams I believe. I'm hoping 1.8T in the future.

Good to see you sticking with it, the 1.8 and the Valver didn't seem to have quite as many issues as this one seems to be finding.

Apart from a broken engine in the 1.8 and a non-existing floorplan in the Valver...think they had their fair share. Besides, I bought both those two for much more than this one. :lipsrsealed: It's allowed some teething problems.

Funny story.
MOT due Thursday, did I book it in? Did I f**k!
Good job I bought a bicycle. Haha! Car will be MOTd next week I hope.

I'm surprised it's lasted this long :lipsrsealed:
May the barge sail through it's hull integrity inspection :afro:

Car failed it's MOT.
Needs two small bits of welding, handbrake needs adjusting and CO2 emissions weren't so good.
Scrap time?

Was talking about you last night, was going to text you just now.. how is the search going? :lipsrsealed:
-
Yea go on scrap it!
-
Why would you think about me?
I'm not going to scrap it, hopefully all will be sorted and it'll be retested tomorrow, but we will have to see.

As much as this is funny, just reminded me i need an MOT!
Thanks Shady

-
Are you the replacement to the scrapage scheme?
-
May as well be. Although eve nif I couldn't get the Anni fixed myself I'd sell it on to someone that could.
-
Maybe you should move away from Mk3 golfs, there obviously dont work for you. lol.
-
Maybe so, but I don't have the cash for a new car right now. I've got a couple of things in mind but I'm sticking with Ruby for a good while longer.

That's what finance companies are for
-
Stick with it shady it will all come good in the end
-
So upon closer inspection, jacking points were a bit mashed, exhaust is blowing (hopefully why CO2 emissions are slightly high), headlight beams were completely out, rear suspension bump stops need trimming down as there is no give in the rears.
So all in all, bollocks.
-
Why do you always end up buying dogs?!
Buy a decent car please!
-
Some of us don't have the finances to do that. Trust me, if I could, I would.
-

True. Don't do Finance if you don't have to. Can't you save heavily?

Until my money is all sorted, which won't be for several months then I'll be sticking with what I have, I'm making many cut backs now to further my money towards what I owe.
Car should be all sorted by next week now. It's in Herm's hands, hopefully he won't take a hammer to it like the pic he just sent me.

I have to say i really like this, even the wheels! If anything it's the wheels that make it
-
good result on MOT
Hellas needed  - still not won over by the wheel colour tho
-
I need to get the roof colour coded back to red as well as the wing mirrors, then Hellas and more lows and spacers. I want it looking like that!
Really happy it's got another ticket, still need tax at the end of the month. :undecided:
-
like the idea of going back red on the body - OEM all the way

I have wanted to get it back to red since I got it really. I'll get a quote and see how much I'd be looking at.

Should be about £170 IIRC.

I'm aroused at the idea.
Kirk had already done the wheels and red 8v anniness before he saw the pics, it'd only be more lows and spacers.
Inspiration has to come from somewhere. :afro:

I have a few bits to sort out this weekend, especially a good clean, my satin wheels don't look satin anymore.... :lipsrsealed: So stay tuned and something will be up on the weekend.

Looks awesome.
Really suits it.

Looking good :afro:
Don't bother with the beemer wiper though, just remove it all together

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure about the smoked covers but they do work thankfully.
I'll be putting the beemer wiper on Dom, don't like the de-wipered look I'm afraid.

GrandMstRamRod, guess what! I cleaned the car, and blacked the trim!!! Proof for you tomorrow.
Have a new interior too, I imagine many won't think it goes but meh, I really like it. It's different.
-
Also, found this tube today, not connected to anything:
Also I think I may have found out my issue of cutting out under braking. Just to the left of the tube I'm asking about, you can see another with a little part coming out, with another rubber tube in it along with a screw. This is my temporary fix until I get a proper seal as this little section had a rubber nipple that was damaged and pulling in air. After doing this bodge job I feel it is better because the car isn't dropping under 900rpm at all now. Fingers cross this was the problem.
Back to the main tube, it leads to this unit behind the coolant tank:

looks like your talking about the vac pipes here shody, and yes it will cut out should you have leaks or the pipes are perished, change them out bud!

And many thanks to Godzilla, what a beast! Quite literally, sent me some lovely centre caps to finish off the RX2s:
Now for the bad stuff. Sadly, my car is running at 1200K rpm constantly, I have looked online and most likely due to the throttle body clean so have to disconnect the battery for a few hours to allow it to reset.
-
Sure you haven't left any vaccum pipes loose? Mine was idling at 1200 when there while I was waiting for a vaccum pipe. Once on it was fine.
New vaccum pipe from the servo to the manifold from VW if needed is about £45.

That interior looks pretty cool shady! i like it.

Centre caps look good :afro:
I'm in 2 minds about the interior, although a big part of me thinks it would look awesome with black seat belts and some rear speakers installed

I have to say they do look good on your car!
-
I'll be keeping the Anni belts, I like the dash of red on the interior.
That interior looks pretty cool shady! i like it.
Me to.
Oh and Godzilla, thanks again for the centre caps, they finish the wheels off a treat.
-
Have to admit I do like the belts.
-
They look pretty smart. :afro: can't help but think you need to colour code other parts of your car now to make them feel more at home.
-
White rim on the RX2s?
-
White rim on the RX2s?
Maybe yeah? or some viper stripes!
-
If im honest shady I really love Annis as you know but that trim just dont work for me with a red Anni. The Grey just dont look right in my opinion mate just my view it looks ok but I think your car deserves better tbh.If its leather you want either black leather cc recaros, black and red leather cc recaros or cloth recaros that way it stays nice with the red and black theme and once those seat belts come out loads of people will want them so keep em if I was you dont sell em.They dont look that bad but they dont look that good either but as already said if it makes you happy thats all that counts
-
I really like it, if you don't want the interior i'll have it! I think it all goes really well together, have a little theme going on. I still can't help but look at the handbrake and think it looks like a dogs willy..
First time since you've owned a Mk3 i can see some reall progress and i like it! :afro:
-
I remember sitting in those seats! Different car though!
Change the belts mate!
-
Not a fan of the seats, sorry to say it but i think they look cheap, maybe if it was a good quality retrim they would look good
BUT as long as you are happy with the results thats OK, werent these for sale on ed38 and fleebay
-
Cheers Jamie. it's coming along, I love the wheels now, those centre caps set it off nicely. Not sure what's next now, I need a new amp which I'll be getting this week (Infinity Kappa Four, looks a beast!). I've got some mechanical bits to sort out such as revs staying at 1200k, thermostat needs changing, an oil hose is leaking which needs a new seal. Also a coolant system part needs changing due to leaking. Other than that it's all pretty spot on, so will possibly look into a 1.8T conversion.... :smug:
Len, these seats have done the rounds but they do look pretty awesome, I cleaned one with leather cleaner yesterday, looks alot better so will do the rest tonight.
-
One thing you'll notice is that once people start telling that it's not their preference then it grows on you more! Maybe i'm just weird like that but i bet Len knows what i'm talking about!
Centre caps look spot on!
This is my fav shot tho:

OMG.. I never even noticed until you pointed it out and you're so right, made be laugh but then I was worried that I would then across as someone who looks at aroused dogs dinkies!
-
Still think black seatbelts would work better.
-
I'm liking the mixed responses for the seats.
I will admit, at first I wasn't sure if they worked, but when you see them in person (although they could do with a retrim) they still look pretty awesome. I think the contrast in colour from outside to inside is great too.
Just to make it clear, the red belts are staying.
I will never forgive Mighty Elvi for making that comment about the dog's willy. But it's my dog's willy so it's all good.
VR6_Wherry, I am growing to them more and more, you should see them in person.
-

I very nearly had them for my car! But Billy persuaded me I really wanted CC Blue ones!
(Think he had already promised them to Adam!)
You are both right and wrong Wherry!
I do take notice of what folk say, but at the end of the day you yourself have to be happy with it! And once I am happy I dont take any notice of what others think!

I almost sold Ruby the weekend before last. I went to Manchester to see vdubninja about his car for a swap with mine (vdub, thanks for the coffees and good chat :afro:), but on the return home I decided I really didn't want to get rid of mine after all.
Don't know what it is but I just want to stick with the old gal. That being said, bloody thing has it's issues but I will be getting most of them sorted in the next few weeks. First being the MAF needing replacing, I changed a front oil breather pipe yesterday (£66 from the bloody stealers!). The old one was completely fecked and both ends had been damaged, upon taking out one end the end just came off and stayed where it was connected. That's how bad it was.
Anyway, plans are to get a few things sorted and then start saving. Might end up having the first 20VT MK3 Anniversary. :lipsrsealed:

See mate! You were well eager to do the swap, but I said it's best we both think about it. Ruby is a stunner, and I wanted to:
A) Be sure I wanted her
and
B) Make sure you were making the right decision.
And isn't it a good job you waited!
Glad you made the right decision.
I'm in two minds now after meeting ruby... Do I go all out and get another MK3 (Might go for a pre done 20VT) or do I just fix Scarlet's gremlins, then slam her and map her.
Loving the wheels on Ruby btw mate.
And finally, don't listen to these haters your seats are FECKING AWESOME! And KEEP the red belts!!! :lipsrsealed:
Did you eat your freddo btw?

New Falkens tires on the way for the front, also some new discs and pads as I noticed the steering and brake pedal vibrating under pressure. Hopefully it's those that sort that problem.
Also, not sure why but second gear when cold doesn't lock into gear a smoothly as all the other gears, it doesn't crunch as such, but doesn't have a sense of 'oh, I felt that go in'. What could be the problem there?
-
Second gear issues are common as muck on these, fit a new linkage bush kit and treat the box to some fresh oil and I reckon it'll be sweet. My last 8v was exactly the same when I bought it.
-
Cheers thai. Just read rubjonnys guide for the mk2 which I am to believe are the same, so if I buy a repair kit (about £18 on eBay) I'll have to get this sorted as it is annoying. Should tighten up all the other gears too then I take it?
-
Yeah basically the same and makes such a difference for very little outlay. Another part worth changing to further improve the feel of the shifter is the detent spring on top of the gearbox where the shift rod enters. It looks like a large hex bolt (about 24mm or something?) Whip that out and on the bottom you'll see that it has a roller ball bearing which is sprung loaded. This is supposed to drop into the slots on the shaft below and these wear out, when i did my last one the ball was completely missing therefore giving no postive feel to the gear changes. This is a main dealer part but isn't expensive iirc.

My second gear was exactly the same after I did all this! Was fine before, I shouldn't have bothered!

Right now I'm more curious on sale info, is it in classifieds?
Nissan Micra, probably less prone to rust at least, probably faster too.
-
No mate, gotta wait sadly.
-
So both Mk3 Mods will be without a Mk3!
-
Brilliant...

This forum has radically been converting Golf owners to other makes a lot lately, it's still a VW though guys :)

Oh chuff. How did you know?

So just like the wind I've changed my my mind yet again. Polo order is cancelled as realistically it just seems a silly option at the moment. So instead seeing as I've spent so bloody much on the Anni so far I may as well make the most of it.
MOT is due in about 3 months so will be sorting a couple bits out before then.
I started today by checking the sills as I hadn't actually has a proper look since owning it, and after the state of my valver's sills I thought before investing anymore money in to this I better make sure it won't break in half. I was greeted to this:
More than happy with that. Both sides appeared to be rust free on this infamous rust area.
So with that in mind I decided it was time to change the interior, so I went and bought a new one, I got Chelsea cleaning as she loves it so much:
The car in all fairness has been a complete sh!thole of a mess as I just haven't bothered with it, but Chelsea's amazing hoover skills have changed all that. I didn't manage to get a full interior shot as it was dark by the time we finished but it looks awesome now. Didn't cost me much either so all good. Here's a pic I got, it's pretty obvious what interior I got.
I'll post proper pictures tomorrow.
Oh and the other night I went to the cinema, this little fecker thought he'd catch a ride:
-
Here's a couple of pics. Condition of them is awesome as you can see.

-
Sills look good, as do the seats. Looks to me like one of your doors is full of filler though :undecided:
-
so how much to cancel the order
-
Ahh yes, on the to do list that Dom. The door was hit by a trolley so in replacing the whole door when I get round to having bits sprayed. The important thing is I know the car won't break in half anytime soon.
Chuff, thanks to some salesman feeding me bullcrap when initially looking to purchase the car, there was no cancellation fee. :smug:
-
I thought you had eaten chelsea?
-
I started today by checking the sills as I hadn't actually has a proper look since owning it
  you dont learn much Kirky!! that would have been the first thing to check given the experience with the valver you had. plus side it looks like a tidy mk3
-
I know Dan. It was on good authority however that they were pretty solid, at least I can confirm it now. And  at you saying its tidy. Thank you though.
Next up is suspension when I come back from holiday next month, and I really want some standard RX2s to put it back to almost standard. Once I have another MOT on it I will look into getting the roof sprayed back to red properly. Then maybe, just maybe...1.8T time.
-
Then maybe, just maybe...1.8T time.
 If funds was the reason behind the Polo falling through why waste £2k + on a 1.8t conversion when you could just buy a nice mk4 1.8t, prices are low at the moment.
-
Because Wayne, I could have the car how I want it for around the same amount of money I would have paid for a year paying for the Polo.
-
Plus just because he can get a mk4 for that money doesn't mean he wants one
-
Plus just because he can get a mk4 for that money doesn't mean he wants one
This. I would only ever get an R32 and that's a no go for a lot of reasons. I would love m Anni in excellent condition with an engine that gives the power I want.
-
Yh I'd like a 1.8t conversion too but as soo n as I think about the money/time involved it always puts me off.
-
Yh I'd like a 1.8t conversion too but as soo n as I think about the money/time involved it always puts me off.
I keep contemplating it then just end up thinking it'd be so much less hassle and money buying another car with more tunable grunt to start with eg. Leon Cupra R or mk4 although I'm still unsure if i ever really want to own a mk4.
-
Excuse the poor quality picture. Damn iPhone wouldn't focus:
What a pain sorting that out. Couldn't work out why the horn kept going off when turning left, dumbass here forgot that when the horn wire end touched metal, it would go of.
-
Dont want a mk4 shady but youve fitted a mk4 steering wheel on your car  gives you the feeling your in a mk4 :smug: only joking mate nice to see your keeping hold of your Anni shes a good looking car reminds me of my old gurl
-
Looking good. How did you find making it fit to the ring behind the steering wheel?
-

I was thinking the same thing mate. In fairness, it's the exterior of the MK4 I don't like. Inside they are very nice. It's a leather steering wheel too and feels much sturdier than the Anni one. I loved your old car. I read through your whole thread once!
Looking good. How did you find making it fit to the ring behind the steering wheel?
It was off a friend who had already drilled 3 holes in the right locations. It was just a pain putting it on and getting right / straight.
-
Ah right, that's handy. Yh that's a pain, I ended up driving down the road with no airbag and it unbolted to try and get it lined up  (quiet village, with no traffic on the road don't worry)
-

I still had to do that.

You are defo going to need to 1.8T it. I mean you need all the power you can get after putting all that weight on..
-
You still have this!!!!!

You still have this!!!!!
Yeah, why?

I seem to remember a big hoo haa about you buying a brand new car!

Sorted.

OEM look is the best look
Will be a mint car when finished this one
-
Going to get them tomorrow but won't have them on until the end of the week I would of thought.
Can't wait, it's starting to come together now.
-
Operation OEM+ is officially in effect. Got some RX2s!
-
Look forward to seeing them in rubber and on!
-
Bit pissed off because I went to go put my new wheels on today, and low and behold I f**king managed to break the locking wheel but key. Thankfully it turned to tighten things up so instead of proceeding I just retightened the bolts and left it.
Need to go halfords first thing tomorrow to see if I can get a new key. Here's hoping at least.
-
halfords, spare key, bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
thanks for the laugh shady, needed that
-
I don't get it? They should have the packs like that of which I bought and be able to use the key from that.
-
I don't get it? They should have the packs like that of which I bought and be able to use the key from that.
Doubt it, they all are different, what type have you got fitted.
-
That's like saying 'im going to B&Q to buy a key to open my front door as I'm locked out'...
-
Well f**k the lot of you. Went in, and they had the exact same set I bought years ago.
-
Right then, am off to halfords now to buy a set and a little road trip to Yeovil tonight :lipsrsealed:
-
Gotta find my car first b!tch.
-
Well stfu b!tchin and get fitted home boy!
-
Well stfu b!tchin and get fitted home boy!
Fitted them this morning but need to clean the car first. Will have pics later.
Had the new tyres put on them but have gone to Bristol today and noticed my steering wheel shaking. They were balanced at the same time, although now concerned maybe they are not straight?
It's only at higher speeds though, about 60+.
-
Not saying they aren't bent but 60+ mph is dead right for poor wheel balance. Start simple and take it back to the wheel place. Quite likely that a weight has fallen off.

Yep - that works for me. I am aiming to keep mine original but I could be tempted with those.
Perfect and bloody lovely on yours
Just needs a red roof now...
-
Cheers buddy. Definately on the cards for a red roof, don't like te black at all. Also need my Wong mirrors done back to red too.
Think next job that's cheap and easy enough is to paint the calipers red as they are not so red at the moment. Given that the Anni came as standard with red calipers it's only fair.
I don't want to sound biased but you should get some RX2s for yours, still OEM enough as they were original on the Annis and as you can see they set red MK3s off nicely. Couldn't stop looking at reflections of the car on other peoples cars on the motorway. Best one was a long gloss black bus, I was like "ooooo look at my car!".
-
Looks sweet
-
Looks loads better but needs spacers

-
Looks the dogs mate  I know people say that red mk3s are common but I still think that Flash red on Anniversarys is the best colour they just stand out from the rest.Great work mate coming along very nicely makes me miss my old gurl
-
Did you get to the bottom of the vibration from the front at speed Shady?
-
Love the wheels. Very clean
-
Cheers guys. Seems to get more attention now. Can't complain.
The wheel wobble at speed is better now. I got them to check balancing which they did but said it was all okay. I think the wheels may possibly be buckled now but don't know how to check.
-
Usually when you have your wheels balanced and there on the machine when the wheels spin you can see if there buckled. What make are the tyres are they in good condition and a decent make as bad tyres can cause wobbles etc..
-
I've got 4 brand new toyo proxy t1rs.
-
Swap em all around and see if you can figure out which one is causing the problem.

As posted switch front to back and see if any better

Could be tyres if the wheels have balanced up fine. Even new tyres.

Changed the aerial to a Polo 6R aerial yesterday, many thanks to Woosh for supplying and GTI novice for confirming they fit MK3s. Just need to blacken that trim now!

Your running 3mm spacers? If so then that's the most likely cause of your wobble, I ran 5mm halfords ones for a couple of days before ditching them due to the wobble they caused
-
Looking sweet Shady! Personally I am a fan of the black roof though :)
-
not a problem mate happy to help someone for a change lol, just gone to change my username so dont get called gti novice as no longer a novice as such and cant grrrr lol

 Cheers bud. If you want your name changed PM jv and he will be able to dirt you out :)

Got a new backbox to put on which should tidy up the rear a bit. Here's hoping any way. Gave it a good clean and will be getting the garage to put it on this week hopefully.

By the way this is all without any bumper care treatment of any kind.
-
Tip top! Bet you woulda been a bit pissed off if the paintwork started to bubble though eh! :lipsrsealed:
-
A teeny tiny bit did on the rear bumper, not noticeable now though, but I learnt my lesson lol. Hopefully it'll stay black like this for quite some time.
Backbox is going on Monday. I'm probably going to go get one them Beemer rear wipers too (even though my rear wiper doesn't work).
-
Great work on the trim man! I have two complete sets of bumpers and trims to do thus to as soon as the weather is good lol!
-
Cheers Dan. It's really easy just got to take your time.
Got my Lupo GTi steering wheel yesterday and put it on today. It's leather with red stitching so fits in as a mighty fine replacement for the standard Anni wheel.

I gave the car a good detailing yesterday for Volksfest. Polished and waxed along with trim care etc. I didn't get any shots after the detail but a couple of beading shots and trim shots, look how black it is now, after hot air gunning it and a bit of Autoglym bumper care and it looks like new!

Steering wheel looks really nice  even more so with the red stitching.

Not brand new but as good as by the look of it. Not as much as that but you're not far off bud.

I recent gearknob and gaitor i was watching on ebay went for that. And there was me thinking I was gonna get it for a fiver
-
I could do with a new gaitor, mine is a bit tired now so will be keeping an eye out for one of them. You'd never of got that Anni gearknob for a fiver surely?

Should go for the knock off MK4 one as a cheap option, I had one in my GL and looks the part for the price.
-
Cheers mate will look into it. Keep up the good work!!
-
I've got a modified mk4 gearknob in mine, the textured finish matches the Lupo steering wheel perfectly.
-
Wooden mk4 knob in mine. Doesnt go with anything else in the car but I like it!

So MOT next week...this should be fun.

Ruby failed her MOT which upset me a little, but I didn't scrap her, I just sorted the problems.
First off she failed on nearside and offside rear brake pipes being corroded, so was on the phone to VRDan to help out and we took her to his place of work and got her in the air. Replaced corroded parts with brand new pipe and bled the brakes.
Next up on the failure sheet was the steering rack gaiter on the offside was perished, so swiftly bought the new part and replaced that, even did that myself as it wasn't a hard job.
Had a couple advisories of chip in windscreen which I knew about (I stare straight f**king at it seeing as it's right in my viewing angle!), and also front to rear brake pipe lines were showing signs of corrosion, but covered these with Hammerite to reduce them from getting worse.
After a productive morning I thought I'd treat the old girl to a clean so washed her, polished and trim gelled everything and got her to model for me, pics below, all ready for the retest on Thursday.

Thanks for the comments guys. MOT is on Thursday but at least I know it's all good again.
The gear knob is in such good condition so I won't retrim it yet, guess I'll have to one day though. Brad, you got an Anni one too?

DCB mate, nice guys but tried fobbing me off a bit with prices to fix the car! £240 to replace rear brake pipes and replace offside steering gaiter rack cover. Me and Dan took it to his garage in the end and it cost me £20!
Retest tomorrow so should fail, Hammerited all the existing brake pipes that looked like they could do with a bit of protection and jobs a good'un.
Good luck with yours on Friday mate. :)

Passed MOT. That is all.

I'm getting really sh!tty at the money has my steering wheel is completely out of alignment since getting the tracking redone yesterday, and it's being a b!tch to get off!
They should have straightened the wheel, locked it in place then did the tracking.

Ur just too shady lol

Was given these for free today, only £150+ worth of bushes for the front and rear of the car.

.
Howd you manage to get them?

I made a comment in jest one day a while ago about having some free bushes and he goes and gets me a whole suspension kit lol.

Ah that's nothing, a while back I got a free box of cakes from one of our customers. :undecided:

Standard bushes in most cases are better but a free set is a great result.

Apparently these help a lot for lowered cars as opposed to the standard items.

According to an Off Topic thread you recently posted in I'd say you're better off without.

Poly bushes have their place but can be a b1tch to fit at times compared to originals.
I have them fitted to suspension parts but am yet to decide about the engine mounts and steering rack. :undecided:
-
Maybe I will stick with the bushes then. Cheeky bugger.
I may as well put them on (won't be doing it all myself anyway) and will report back what I think. Won't be for a few weeks yet though as moving on Friday.

So currently in the process of having the roof sprayed back to red, as the black was flaking away so getting it done properly. At the same time the boot is being done. Won't get it back until Friday but looking forward to it!

Cudda taken the aerial out...... Looking good bud!!
Just thinking the same, only takes about 15mins to remove it, still at least it looks better than the black.
-
So I've had the boot done as well, collections tomorrow and I feel I'm going to want to get the rest of the car done to match! Damn it! Why did I go ahead and get some freshly painted panels!
-
Had a pretty productive day today. Got the car back yesterday and pretty pleased with the finish, but now I want the rest done to look sparkly and new.

Also took the time to install the heated seat loom and switch which, while easy enough, was a pain as I've got fat hands!
I did do it though, and as you can see, I did it properly, and I cleaned too as, also as you can see, the car was in a sorry state.

Who did you get to do your paint work?

looking good mate

Paint is looking sweet man! I would have had the aerial out though. From looking at the pics, was the windscreen taken out?
-
looking good mate
Cheers mate. I know we discussed the 1.8T recently but in all honesty, life and money are the 2 biggest b!tches ever, so I think I may need to do the VR route, I will of course be in touch when I want that done but got a few other things to sort out first. :afro:
Paint is looking sweet man! I would have had the aerial out though. From looking at the pics, was the windscreen taken out?
Yes mate, in fact I had that replaced as there were a couple of chips in it. So it's all squeaky clean now. My bumpers are looking a bit pale so in the next couple of months I'm going to get him to respray those. Then I will focus on the rest of the body, couple of small rust issues to correct before I can go much further just yet. Thankfully, not the sills.
-
Right. My BBS RXIIs aren't the Anniversary ones, I knew this when I bought them but its always bugged me, yet I never did anything about it. So yesterday in the early hours, I decided to do a sneaky scan of eBay and found some that were almost finishing and at a low price. Chucked a cheeky bid in and won!
Collected later that day and all seemed pretty good.
My idea was to nab the newish tyres off my current RXIIs and out them on the new ones but before I do that, I will get them refurbished. As many know, this is a hard task purely because the bolts usually stick, snap or round. Thankfully only one bolt was an issue for me.

Lucky fecker! I had 8 bolts f*ck up on my rx2s! Looking good tho!
-
I was really surprised considering all the horror stories I've read. My right hand is killing me now though, some were on good and proper!
-
I have a set of these sat in my shed with the tyres off, ready for me to split down. I'm not really looking forward to it to be honest lol! Will be worth it in the end though! How are you guys refurbing yours? Colour coded? Original silver? Polished lips?
-
I'm putting mine back to original silver. I am keeping them original as want to keep the general look original too.
Have fun splitting them....
-
My plan was to do them oem silver, but I want some colour, so might do the inner barrels red
O and I would of never tried to split them without knowing I have free access to a full metalwork workshop  came in handy, especially the milling machine when the bolt extractor tool snapped inside the drilled out bolt, not fun!!
-
Even more reasons why I really am not looking forward to splitting them lol! I'm planning on either BBS Gold or Alpine White centres with either polished lips or painting sparkling glass effect :)
-
Going to be getting them sandblasted next week and hopefully painted the week after. So I'll have a nice new set of shoes for the car, that's my Xmas present to her when really it's for me.
-
car coming along well.. good choice on rim colour

Thanks Brad. :afro:
I've just gone and got a couple bits for the car off another Anni being broken. Mines becoming rarer and rarer by the day.

69 16v's and 233 8v's according to howmanyleft.com shady, and the rate they are being broken on ebay that number will be dwindling.
the website updates every 3 months and im getting a bit obsessed with it!!!
-
 Thanks for that. Ill keep my eye on that too.
-
69 16v's and 233 8v's according to howmanyleft.com shady, and the rate they are being broken on ebay that number will be dwindling.
Doubt that is right, how many 8 valves were made?
Got to be a lot more than 233 left :undecided:
-
Boney's thread will tell ya!
Think it was 800 odd 8v's and 100 odd 16v's
-
750 8v's, 150 16v's and 100 TDIs (European only, not in the UK).
It wouldn't surprise me if there were only 233 odd 8v's left considering the state you see most MK3s of this age. I just robbed some parts from one that is now being broken due to failing an MOT and I know there is a black one in Yeovil and it looks like a shed! That will most likely be off the road soon.
So I think seeing as mine is in pretty good nick I'm going to keep her and make sure she stays in a respectable condition, I know they are worth bugger all at the moment but soon enough when they are really few and far between it will be worth something.
Plus it's red, best colour. :smug:
-
Red = :sick:

Thanks Brad. :afro:

Mine is one of the 8vs left. Might be coming off the road next year tho and really not sure what to do with it.
-
Why you planning on taking it off the road?
-
That howmanyleft.com sounds reliable cus he gets his info from the Dept of Transport. Can't see him taking the time to get all that info online and it not being backed up, but could be wrong.
If you go on ebay at any given time there will be an anni being broken cus they are worth more in bits than whole at the moment. But i think by the time everyone has broken all the tatty ones and only the ones in good nick are left, they will be worth keeping hold of.
The VW scene has a habit of paying premium prices for rarer stuff, as we all know. I was flicking through an 8 year old Golf magazine the other day and the classifieds at the back had mk1's going for £1000-£1500. You won't get a decent one for less than £4k.
And shady, red isn't the best colour dude, its definatley black...
-
^^^^
Agreed mate. No doubt these bad boys will be worth something (one day).
Btw, black is whack, red is red....
-
Why you planning on taking it off the road?
Im looking at getting a mk5 tdi as a new daily, so thinking of either sticking it up for sale while theres still a bit of tax on it, or making it into a bit of a project, am building a mTDI lump for a mates caddy at the mo which will be about 200 odd bhp so thinking of building something similar to put in it.
-

Maybe but I know on other forums the numbers have been looked into and have been a long way out.
However if only 750 were made then that figure sounds about right.
What would be interesting is that did VW really only make 750 for all the markets or was it 750 for the uk only
-
I reckon that was for the UK market as ive seen loads of Annis been broken on German ebay including the TDI 's.
-
I knownof 2 more in notts being broken a 16v and a 8v.
When i hecked earlier in year there was over 280 odd 8vs left so there has been a sharp fall this year.
Im realy tempted to get rid of my own for a jetta mk2 but its tge fact that they may increase in value soon thats making me want to keep her. Only have go look at how much oak green mk2s fetched and they where not tgat rare lpl
-
Yesterday, before I was getting pissed, I changed the wing mirrors on e car back to red ones, finally no more crappy black paint job.

Also, went to Bristol in the morning to go shopping. I managed to get some good MPG out of Ruby too.

And who says 8vs are crap....?
-
Hadn't cleaned Ruby for a loooong time so decided to do it this weekend. Not a full on clean but just bathed her.
Inside is all clean now too. Can't believe the state it gets in sometimes.
More importantly, sorted out the busted bulb for the heater controls. What a ballache. It's easy enough just fiddly. Also sorted the parcel shelf strap that was broken, by buying a new one.
Finally, the car is now running silky smooth after a well deserved service.
Next thing is the wheels which still need to be done, but I'm not in a massive rush just yet.
-
the worst thing about you owning an anniversary is
I now own one!! :lipsrsealed:
-
I just seen on Facebook! Welcome back! At least you're doing it in style.
-
What happened to the tsi mate?
-
Fell through, I had other things I wanted to do and stop do before tying down to a big commitment like that. Plus Ruby is is much better condition than when you last saw her now. :)

Bad times. Well me and the mrs split a few days ago so thought I'd treat myself to a new polo r. Posted a pic in the main vw board. Only difference is mine has black roof/sunroof.

I saw the Polo R recently, looks really nice. Kinda glad I didn't get the SEL in the end as I would of been pissed that they released the R a couple months later lol!
Sorry to hear you and the Mrs split mate.

Wheels are coming along nicely. I'm also getting the bolt heads lightly polished.

Kinda liked the gunmetal grey u had last time if I am honest.
Looking good though kirk!!!
-
After looking back at photos I realised I really didn't like that, I'm wanting it to look as standard as possible but with subtle mods. Hence going back to silver. Gonna look sweet once done.

Thought I'd try grabbing myself a Highline rear boot badge as they look nicer than the normal ones in the car, managed to get one cheaply off eBay. Should be with me this week.
Also thinking of putting standard rear lights back on for a change up. Take it back to almost complete standard.
-
I have being searching for a highline boot badge but they have gone up in price!! (I won't pay more than £5 for one!)
oh and I am looking at doing my rims at some point.......they have being refurbed but I have an idea :lipsrsealed:
can you do a write up on your refurb (I am going to buy a spare rim just so I can spend time doing them 1 by 1)
-
Some are going for £30! I got mine for a tenner which is reasonable I think.
I will try a write up but I'm not painting them myself, soooo....
-
Wo! so VR6 highlines had a shiny rear badge??? i did not know that! :nerd:
-

Yeah, VW logo is slightly smaller too but they look nice. I will get a pic up once it's on. Couldn't find any on a red Golf.
-
highline rear badge as fitted to my old gti.. they are smooth too (and was £9 new from vw in 2007/8)

I prefer blacked out ones, looks smart. But I guess you are going for oem
-
I'm going to have a busy weekend this weekend.
With any luck, my wheels should be finished and put together so will be putting those on. I have also gone a bit mad and gone on a spending spree for various bits and bobs to further push the OEM+ look.
More to follow this weekend.
-
Come on then shady don't keep us in suspenders..........

Come on then shady don't keep us in suspenders..........
It's nout special, but will just add some nice refinements to the car, and the alloys will set off the exterior much better too.

I'm intrigued too, I guess your alloys have had a lick of paint? (silver can be a bit bland!) and it may inspire me to sort me out?
-
Wheels are now done. They are still silver. I'm all about OEM Mr. Bradley.

Looking all nice and like new, bolts have been polished just for a tweak of individuality. Will be getting my T1Rs off this weekend and putting them on these. 15mm spacers for the rear to go on too.
Whilst I'm at it I will be painting the calipers red (they are in need of a refurb).
Highline badge to go on the rear once it arrives.
MK3.5 door handles (aluminium ones) to go on the inside.
I am also going to be doing the wiper arm mod, using a TT arm and a Lupo GTi arm. Was in need of some new wiper blades so thought I'd go the whole hog.
Will be raising the car a little as well as I think the 7J BBS will catch slightly. (The 6.5J catch on full lock).
-
Wheels look great mate, who have you used to do them and roughly how much?
Mine are pretty good but will need done soon
-
Thanks mate. :) They have been done by someone local, price wise. I sorted a deal out with my current RXIIs with him so no cash is being exchanged.
-
Nice one, did he do all the work, i.e. split and rebuild them? My mate Glen (ess three) has done a few sets over the years and i know how much of a pain they are to do
-
No, I split them (pain in the ass indeed!), got them blasted and he's sprayed them up. They look really smart with the polished bolts too. He rebuilt them for me.
I remember reading a post by ess_three regarding the process of splitting these. Thankfully mine weren't as horrific as they could of been but I know many people struggle.
-
Right, new wheels are on, I put the rear spacers in too but was driving down the road and a woman driving behind me stopped me and said my wheels were wobbling like f**k!
I put the car back up and span the wheel, there was a fair bit of wobble. Took the wheel off and the hubcentric part of the spacer had completely snapped off!!! On both sides too.
Safe to say I removed them immediately and wheels are now fine, but still.
Also done the front wiper arm conversion consisting of a TT arm and a Lupo arm with flat blades, look better than a retro fit. All parts ended up about £65 once bought (arms bought second hand).

And yes I'm aware my bonnet needs seeing to. Hoping a respray of it will happen in the next couple of months, got something else bigger planned at the moment.

Looking good bud. The spacers probably went because of the depth of the hub center at the back. The spacers quite often aren't deep enough for it and as a result, when you do the wheel up it forces it off. Can be machined if there's enough material left.
-
i've just clicked through the entire thread.. i may be a little baked  looks awesome though! don't usually like red mk3s but it works, it's the hella twins that make it look real good. may have to get a set now..

Thank you bud. The car is eventually going to look how I want, and be how I want. It's just money which is slowing progress.

I'm quite pissed off they broke too be honest. Just don't really understand how it could happen. I will be putting pics up later.

yeah I hear you, I'm in the same boat ha. looking sweet tho. just had a look at hella twins on eBay, they don't go for cheap!
-
They aren't cheap but look great on the MK3s. I had a dragon green MK3 a few years ago and the carbon versions of the hella twins really set the front end off.

If you look at them, there is a recess for the hub center to go in to center the spacer on the hub. Quite often the recess isn't deep anough and therefore as you tighten the wheels, it forces the spacer flat onto the disc and therefore the hub presses the center of the spacer off.
What size were the spacers?

I had the same issue with my 15mm rear spacers although i didn't tighten them enough to shear them off. Poxy aftermarket discs innit.

If the disc is definitely the issue, can it not be ground down neatly? Take it to stock disc size sorta thing.

Hmmmmm,
Recaro Colour Concept seats for the win. Comfortable!
-
Been busy with the car today, got quite a bit achieved whilst Chelsea has her friend (and her baby round).
Started by replacing the door handles for items from a MK3.5.
How they looked:

Sourced a leak coming into the boot which has water coming through one of the rear light seals, so sorting that out tomorrow.
Got some new mats as the original Anni ones are f**ked, won't be to everyone's taste bit I like them:
And a pic of the Colour Concept seats I now have:

And then, I cleaned the f**k out of the car! Wash, polish, wash, trim gelled, wheels waxed and tires gelled. First time I've done it properly in a good while but she's looking ace again. I will get better pics when it's daylight. And note the aero wiper arm mod, looks great and acts even better!

Oh and refurbished wheels too:

Got some big plans coming up but hush hush for now. :lipsrsealed:
-
Looking really tidy :afro: are you planning on getting some more rear spacers.
-
Looking very nice mate  VW should have fitted Recaros in Anniversarys from the factory far better seats..
-
Heated leather Recaros with tartan or chequered fabric centres.
-
Don't worry your secrets safe with me shady. :-D
-
Vdub - shut up.
Thai, I agree, with any luck, I'll buy some Anni seats and get them merged with the current Recaros but that'll be at a later date.
Blu, totally agree mate, the Anni seats are okay but the Recaros are so much better.
-
Well you've just bought 16v clocks. So it's a engine. Either abf or 1.8t
Love this car
-
great seats
but I was told you'll need 2 set's to make half anni half hide seats!
b.t.w still not a fan of the headlights :lipsrsealed:

I've got a new splitter on the way as this one is shagged.
And due to working so hard on the car all day, I went out drinking with some mates, I don't remember much and I definitely don't remember this, however I'm assuming its because I knackered myself out.

Got a new splitter from Eurowagons on today, lets see how it does. My genuine one was looking a bit worse for wear sadly.

Third time lucky with the MK3's?
Turning into one of my favorites. Looking awesome.
-
Looks that way. It may be pretty standard, but what else does it need?
-
Looking damn tidy
Makes me miss mine! I don't miss the 8v engine though, don't think I could go back to that again now
-
I really need to pick up a pair of those Hella Quads for my headlight collection! And another GTI Grill so I can have a choice between the two bar being satin black or red........... Picking up a pair of the original two part Anni bumpers next week as well :)
-
Stunning mk3 mate, I quite like the red mats.

I wasn't quite sure what I'd make of them but I thought I'd take the risk. I think it just helps with that 'Anni look' just that little bit more.

It is becoming tiresome having a car that looks good but has no go whatsoever. Low and slow only works for so long...maybe I'll just a VR in there sometime soon.
-
Needs spacers. Those wheels need to be on display now you've had them refurbed
-
Spacers are expensive! I only intend to buy Eibach or H&R now though as had a set of 15mm aftermarket ones that almost killed me and the car! Just keeping an eye out for a pair to come up second hand or something. But I agree. I want 15/20mm on the rear and 10mm in the front.
-
Shady, the new splitter is it a tight fit?, I need to get one too, if it fits like a glove I'll buy one from eurowagens then?
Cheers pal
-
There is the typical gap in the middle, about 5mm or something but the quality definitely seems better than ones off eBay I've had in the past. Going to see how it holds up over the next few weeks (if it makes it that far lol).
Clips in really tight too, tighter than the genuine ones I had. I feel this is good as it stops the sides from popping out.

Think I will just suck it up and buy a genuine one (new). Not yet but eventually, the aftermarket ones are sh!t!

I rang VW a few month ago, They dont do them no more
-
My local TPS can get them in but they are £80 a side!
-
Buggery.
-
Can get them for roughly 42 quid ish a side including vat. If it's cheaper for me to get one and post it to you let me know. I have an account with TPS.

Are they genuine ones from there then? I think I may just do that mate. Can you see what lead time is?
-
Yeah TPS is genuine parts. I literally just rang them before replying. Lead time is normally a day if it's order in.
-
Just won some H & R 20mm spacers. Going to chuck those on the rear. Just for you Rhys.

You had your arches done shady? if not won't they catch with the spacers on?
-
Arches were rolled prior to me getting the car. :)
-
I'll add this to my to do list
-
 I'll show you what it looks like once I've received them. Not decided on doing front spacers yet. I don't think it looks too bad with a little tuck. The rear is bad though.
-
I know, went through this with my previous golf, had to mess around with different size spacers so they didn't catch, which isn't cheap, but now got 7 inch wide rx2's not 6.5inch like before so will have to start from scratch, or get the arches rolled. Either way will be expensive and the missus isn't talking to me since she found out the cost for fitting my coilovers, bushes and mounts!
the joys of modding vw's!!!
-
It has come to my attention (after some nice drivers following me told me) that my driver's side rear wheel wobbles when driving. Now I've just got my 20mm spacers for the rear and didnt want to run the risk of something bad happening so currently the car is running the space saver, and Monday the wheel will be going to a local welders who can straighten wheels.
I did investigate the wheel at a friends garage and the lip of the rim (the face) has bent in one place, noticeable when the wheel is spinning a lot. So with any luck that will be fixed next week and I will be running the spacers at the same time.
When I do that, the calipers will be getting a much needed painting treatment as they are looking very tired.
Oh and the bonnet will be getting resprayed in the next few weeks too, major lacquer peel right now so that needs seeing to.
Today, I changed the headlights for some better condition quads, not genuine Hella but that doesn't bother me, they look the same. Also changed the interior glovebox for a better condition one and cleaned under the bonnet. Plenty more to do but just haven't got the time this weekend, most will be sorted next though. Watch this space.

I've had a long day today. Started by going to the scrappy to salvage some bits, alas there was nothing I wanted. I put the new Anni badge I bought on:

Wheels look stunning! Nice work

Thank Murray, the red calipers finish them off nicely.

Its the small details that make the big difference
-
are you still running 215's with the spacers as I've looked at mine and I recon it will rub with them on the back? I am thinking fitting 195/45's and 20mm spacers?
they do fill the arches nicely though.....
-

Oh yes indeed, calipers make a huge different to the wheel area now, doesn't look crap behind them.

I am running 215s, however my arches were rolled previously so that will probably be why they fit. I could afford to go lower if I wanted but I'm happy with the height it's at right now. Like you say, fills the arches nicely.
You can definately notice the difference form before and after:

Now stick a lightened flywheel in there and give it some grunt!

New (but old) VR6 splitter has just been purchased. Looks in great condition so will be replacing the current tired looking one when that gets here. Oh, and it's genuine.

You ain't done much have you.. Painted some calipers.. Car is looking clean as f**k!

Looking nice as always baby. Defo making the wheels stand out. Also wheels look schweet

Rear lights have been replaced for standard GTi ones. Want the proper OEM look, just for fun.
Car was dropped off at the sprayers this morning. Bonnet is being done so should have it back by the end of the week. Plus all interior lighting is being changed to red and blue as well. Tell you what, driving without clocks is fun....
-
How much you paying for a bonnet respray?

How much you paying for a bonnet respray?
£150 bud. Not sure if that's good compared to what else is out there but I got two quotes locally, one wanted £295 so naturally went with the cheaper option.
-
£150 isn't a bad price IMO if done well.
Cash?

Picked the car up today. Really please with the finish of the bonnet. All scratches, stone chips and most importantly, lacquer peel gone! Paint match looks spot on too.
Getting him to spray up an old grill for me and I will be replacing my tatty broken old one with that on Saturday.
Also should have my clocks and interior lit switches back by Saturday so will be refitting all those.
Finally also have a wiring loom for each door and puddle lights to fit, which once again will be done Saturday. Gonna be busy!

Literally everything I have available on this car I am now going to sell. I'm not breaking the car as such, I still need to run it and drive it so if you want anything I need a replacement for whatever it is you want, plus cash my way. Unless I have replaced the part already.
Things I can think off for sale right now:
- BBS RX2s with Toyo Proxy T1R tyres (recently refurbished to a good standard).
- Headlights, twin style, carbon effect (like the Hella smoked twins, just not Hella)
- Retrimmed steering wheel, with red stitching, perfect for the Anni
- Very good conditioned gearknob and gaitor (I expect good money for this as most of these gearknobs do not have the leather on anymore).
- Anni handbrake
- Colour Concept black seats (rear headrests) and door cards (all in excellent condition apart from driver's bolster needs attention)
- 25mm Eibach spacers and bolts
- 15mm H&R spacers and bolts
- MK3.5 chrome door handles
- Heated seat loom, switch and relays available
- Genuine Anni smoked fogs and front indicators
- Flat aero front wiper upgrade (TT and Lupo arm with blades)
I have more but can't think right now.
-
If there is anything else you want let me know.
-
I'm confused, if you're not breaking it what's going on?

I class breaking as taking the car off the road. I'm not doing that.
-
I take you've got another car lined up then?
-
I have a Anniversary steering wheel I could swap with you plus a little cash.

No, literally trying to recoupe some money. I've been a bit spend happy as of late and it's showing.

What's wrong with it?
-
What's wrong with it?
Needs some welding. Emissions will fail as they almost did last year. Those are the main culprits. Had a few advisories last year that I haven't seen to so those will probably come up too.
-
I'm confused, if you're not breaking it what's going on?
-
just get the welding done its no bigge
-
just get the welding done its no bigge
+1 mate if mine is salvageable I'm sure yours is, mine was in a right state but I had it welded up and wax oiled for not a great deal???
-
Does seem a bit extreme to break it considering how clean the car looks. What's rotten exactly?
-
I'm sure this car doesn't deserve to be broken!?
-
No it probably doesn't deserve to be broken but there are multiple things wrong with it that I just can't afford to sort out. I can't invest any more money into.
Welding needs doing, there are still areas to paint as half the car looks great, the other half, not so much. The engine, although still pulling strong, it is showing signs of issues and it will fail on emissions. So I don't know how much that will cost to get sorted. There are a number of other things too.
My main problem is lack of money to do anything. Right now there are more important things to worry about than the car, and if I'm being honest, the money I have put into the car I should have due to these issues I am now trying to resolve.
If anyone wants to buy it as is please feel free to give me £1000 and you can have it! But I doubt anyone would so that's why it needs to be broken.
-
I agree with breaking it... Mines on it's cash spending limits and if anything major was to go wrong I would break her (she has just passed it's mot 2 weeks back though)
there's comes a time when repairing isn't always the best/cash wise option!!
-
Tbh I reckon il be the last owner of mine in one lump as well, unfortunately mk3s tend be worth considerably more when in multiple pieces. :undecided:

My sarcasm was clearly wasted here.
Shame it wasn't an ABF or he'd be knocking at your door Shady with a engine hoist primed and ready for action!
-
The thing you lot aren't understanding is my personal circumstances. It's a decision I have made based on many things and as much as I hate to do it, it has to be done.
-
Sarcasm detector wasn't fully working last night sorry

So I decided to go out drinking last night with some friends and parked my car in a secure car park under my flat. I went to town this morning and walked past the car and noticed this:

Literally f**ked off beyond belief. I was going to try and fix the car before the MOT but now I really can't be f**ked due to this. It's going to cost too much to sort.
-
gutted man, but if its a " secure " car park I would be discussing this with the owners ! ! ! !
-

Already on to it but won't get any answer until tomorrow. There is a sign that says there is 24 hour CCTV but I've looked at the whole car park (its very small) and there isn't one camera.
I just don't understand why someone would do this!
-
Mothrrfcuks man. I remember when mine was scratched up like that all done pas side. I wanted to kill the. Jelouse coksukers
-
Saw this on Facebook, gutted for you
-
Gutted mate; its one of those things that no one will ever understand why people do it
-
They need to be executed on site. I would hunt them down
-
Sad for you mate, mines been keyed to fck in the work car park.
They will come back, be ready.
-
Always happens to nice people
-
Feel for you mate  just really out of order some real scummy people out there, are you sure you have not pissed anyone off over the last 12 months or so just seems so random...
-
W     rs!!!!!!
I seen this briefly at Volksfest..and fell in love..I'm not normally a fan of the mk3..but this was one of the best examples I'd seen..sorry to see this pal
-
Gutted for oh mate, there really are some jealous feckers about!
-
Jealousy mate, even with a mk3!
-
I definitely haven't pissed anyone off, generally I keep myself to myself as its not worth the agro. But again, why would someone go out of their way to do this rather than talk to me if they had a problem. Christ even a note on the car would have been better!
I have heard from the landlord and the signs for CCTV are purely to deter potential thieves. No cameras in my building or car park whatsoever.
So now I am stuck. I honesty don't know what do do.
Originally I was going to save it and get through the MOT but that was based on on that fact the car looked ok. Now I know it's going to cost me another several hundred to get the paintwork looking good again, and that's just for paintwork, let alone the couple hundred to fix it for MOT and tax and what not due in the next 2 months.
It all seems hardly worth it now and I haven't got the money to do it all. :undecided:
-
Bonnet and doors could be replaced with panels from a donor.
-
Very sorry to see this has happened to such a nice car, especially after its recent paint!
Can't believe it describes itself as a 'secure garage'....
-
It's only tin and rubber and doesn't affect the function of the car. Talk to a smart repair person maybe?
Alternatively don't bother and just get on with driving your car. I think the NATO Green idea posted on faceplank is a good idea.
-
Bonnet and doors could be replaced with panels from a donor.
You won't get a good colour match if you stick panels on from donor, it will stick out like a sore thumb, vw reds fades too easily so no 2 cars are same. More so mk1 mars pink and mk2 tornado pink but mk3's will as well. gutted for you dude.
If you can't afford to fix it for MOT nevermind paintwork, it will have to be broken. You could MOT it and drive it scratched until you can afford to get it sprayed? i'm driving round with none existant rear arches at the moment, just waiting for someone to scratch themselves on them and sue me!!!
-
I know it's only tin and rubber but it's the fact the bonnet was only recently resprayed. Not to mention it's an Anni and I've been trying to keep it original (ish). A change of colour would be fine on a non Anni.
Maybe Plastidip?
Donor car would be a no go like Leroy said. I've tried before but it's never good on red cars.
-
Would getting it wrapped hide it? (more expense though)!!!
-
I know it's only tin and rubber but it's the fact the bonnet was only recently resprayed.
Sorry, but it's worth stating because of the number of vigilante idiots on your thread suggesting you should go and hurt people because they damaged a thing.
Not to mention it's an Anni and I've been trying to keep it original (ish). A change of colour would be fine on a non Anni.
It is only an Anni. I mean on that basis, people would start preserving the limited edition Rolling Stone Golf3s.
-
No one ever cared for the Rolling Stones though.
-
Stickerbomb it with really big stickers....
-
i know a very good sprayer in salisbury who might be able to help you..
would you be covered on your insurance for this?

I imagine they would write it off if I told them as it will cost too much for a spray. If you could pass me the details though that would be good please Guy.

The car is being scrapped Thursday. Being collected from work.

Aren't you stripping it first then?
-
Aren't you stripping it first then?
You not seen the for sale section?
-
Yeah of course, I'm assuming it still been run in a complete state though as you're getting it collected from work? What's the scrappie paying out for it?
-
Take some pics and put them up of the bare shell
i scrapped a VR6 highline shell a month ago. another highline shell is already on the list waiting to be picked up
-
Yeah of course, I'm assuming it still been run in a complete state though as you're getting it collected from work? What's the scrappie paying out for it?
It is being run in a complete state. Still got the Anni wheels on at the moment (but taking those off tonight).
They offered £144 which is fair I think. Anything over £100 I was happy with in all honesty.
-
just don't let them take any good parts, I have a list if needed
-
Are they taking without wheels and partly stripped on the day then as personally i'd give them little as possible for a greater return in parts sales.
-
They are taking it with engine and shell, plus alloys. All little bits I think are worth something I have taken off.
Boney, what lost would this be?
-

They taking the alloys??? Can i kick you in the balls mate? You could get over 300 for the anni wheels. Unless i got it wrong
-
Kirk, as per scappage situation. I wish to be there like I was with the other MK3 you had. Just to verify you got rid of it.
