Small update:
Took the Anni to the garage today, to have the front left wheel bearing replaced. I had asked them to check the right one too as I wasn't 100% sure it was the left one. Took the part in with me and left it with them whilst I went to work.
I went back at the end of the days and one of the mechanics dealing with my car had told me the following:
- Rear left wheel bearing was gone, so he replaced that (this was causing a loud humming noise from the rear which is now gone).
- Brake pads were f**ked on the front, about 1mm left if that, so those were changed too.
- Left front wheel bearing wasn't replaced, the right one was, but the noise from the front remains.
He asked me to take it for a drive and he came with me, he immediately said "I wish I'd changed the left one now, sitting in the passenger seat I can tell it is the front left bearing that is gone."
The end result is I'm not having to pay for the right bearing to be replaced, saving me £80, and my total bill is £180 once the left bearing is replaced.
So all in all it's not a bad result, 2 front wheel bearings being replaced, rear left wheel bearing part supplied by them and replaced, front brake pads supplied by them and replaced.
Cant' complain really.
