Its clean because that was before it was used.

That doesnt take up much liquid space, it help the vapour condense.

I'd worry about the gunk getting stuck at the top and not draining, I pulled a fair bit of gunk out of the pipes as well when messing with it the other day. I'll give it a go though and see what happens

It should be mainly water that comes out anyway, but with an oily film.

One of these days I need to get a whole day to go over everything and make sure its all ok, everything been so rushed recently I've had no chance to double check everything is as it should be. Bit of a leak coming from the filter housing that I need to take a closer look at, maybe thats something to do with the gunk building up

This weekend is looking good time wise, I may even get a whole day to myself!

Nice build mate just had a quick read though, like the idea of putting the battery in the boot, i know the earth cable would then go onto the chassis but how did you join the live cable from where it went from old cable to new cable under the bonnet?

I used a junction box. the old battery terminal was basically 4 or 5 wires bolted to the terminal, one of them fixed. I cut them all off the terminal and crimped ring terminals onto them, then fixed them to the junction box along with the new cable that runs to the boot. Soldering the connections would be best, but I haven't got round to that yet :p
