maybe time for a small update I think

Engine bay is pretty much finished now I think, at least until the summer. Will get a pic when I'm next outside

exterior is nearly there now too, just need some smoked fogs, side repeaters, and a new painted grill as my current one has lost some of the retaining clips with all the times its been on and off. Playing with the idea of black alloys but will get a pic up of how it is now for opinions, I do like all black cars though :)

Also recently fitted a Toad AI606 and after some teething problems its now all setup and no longer waking me up in the middle of the night or making me crawl in through the boot with the siren going off, not sure what the problem was but the fob was only working at REAL short range. All working now though :)

Next on the cards is fitting a new gearbox, nothing wrong with the DPA except all the gears are a bit too short, the idea of MOAR POWER! is slowly going away and giving in to better economy and a nicer drive, so will be looking at fitting a mk4 shifter and a mk3 diesel ASD box

updated pics to follow hopefully tomorrow after a trip to the scrappy :)

Gearbox arrived yesterday plan is to fit it early next week, also found problems with my cooling system, bottom radiator hose isn't getting warm not sure what the problem is but I have a new neuspeed low temp rad fan switch and thermostat to fit so if it isn't the thermostat a new water pump could be on the cards

I'll have access to the garage again sometime on Monday so I'll try and get the car clean for some updated pics as well

you cant pm until you have 10 posts :) a guy called Rubjonny over on clubgti did mine for me, hes a member on here also but dont think hes too active over here. He did it for £100 you just need to supply the mk4 and mk3 looms though in my case I didnt have a mk3 loom to give him so he got me one for £25. drop him a pm hes the most helpful guy I've ever met it seems nothing is too much to ask :)

regarding my lack of thread updates, theres a big one coming soon trust me  I've just been very busy with other things. I'm soon to be moving into the world of home ownership! offers been accepted and in the process of getting a mortgage sorted, it wont be the end of the golf though just means I need to get it sorted before the repayments start
