If its a eu regulation that new cars should have drl`s and you switch them off will it fail its first mot ? :undecided:

Guys just search the forum, it's a simple procedure to turn the DRL's off on the MK6.

Even with Xenons?

No.

New cars only from 2011/12.
Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.

Someone on here also explained it was only for brand new cars coming out then. i.e. new models so in theory if the MKVI is still being built then, it doesn't need to have DRL. 

Which is probably a bad example as it has DRL's but say the Clio doesn't have DRL's, Renault can continue selling the Clio after that time 2011/12 without DRL's

The regs were very woolly.

You may find it was me who posted how to do that  :wink:
The difference IS H12 and my car don't just have the DRLs on they have the front and rear lights on all the time.

Has anybody reftrofitted xenons and I mean just the bulbs and the transformers.....

I hear bad news about visibility becoming LESS due to the halogene surroundings which remains the same...
It looks beautiful and I was too late to spec.... :cry:
Now I have a chance to do it this way...my main goal being the looks  :cool:...but obviuosly not getting a WORSE visibility.. :undecided:

Also to note is that the mk6s DRL do not meet this EU law regulations.

I have a mk6 GTI with xenons.

The car came from my dealer (240 miles away) with the DRL set to have the headlights and rear lights on. So its basically got dipped beam on all the time.

So it looks like to every other person on the road like i have my lights on all the time even in bright sunlight! :sad: This is now really getting on my moobs.

Anyone know what settings to change in VAGcom?

I have tried the DRL turn of sequence as listed on forums and in the manual but it does not work in my cars settings case i guess because the dealer has set something different up.
