Daylight running lights and xenons.
« on: 26 March 2010, 20:48 »
My turn to ask stupid questions.

I seem to have all the lights (front xenons, rear lights and numberplate lights) on for daytime running lights (light switch in 0) is that normal?

I thought it was just the front lights from normal golfs i had seen?

Has mine been setup wrong? Or is there something else wrong?

Oh and when i turn the ignition off theres 3 beeps and then a click come from under the bonnet

Whats yours do for daylight running lights and how olds yours?

Oh, and i managed to activate the headlight washers  talk about OTT!

  :undecided:

I have retrofitted Xenons and mine come on when the light is low. This includes driving lights, rear tail and number plate lights. So yours is fine.

TDI collected 19th December, all rear lights (x4) and number plate lights on with the drls.

I don't have any beeps when ignition turned off, but I do get similar if I leave key in ignition with door open I think.

Snoopy if my TDI (Oct 2009) is set to the O position then yes only the front DRL's are on. The rear lights are off completely.
If it is set to the auto position and it is daylight, it is the exact same, front DRL's and no rear lights on.

Edit: Sorry meant to add, I don't have xenons.

Even without Xenons, my tail lights came on - I think. :undecided:

The whole point of DRL's was that the car was lit from the front. There is no need for the rear lights to come on as well.
I don't think I have seen another golf on the road with DRL's and rears on at the same time.
