I'll check again tomorrow.
However, I am sure the rears come on too.
Mind you I have only driven the car when it is a bit dark.
God, you guys are really surgical. Quite amazing.

My DRLs' are the same as yours- front and rears being on all the time hence my question the other week about switching the little b*ggers off... Have you managed to de-activate yours, mate ?

DRLs are on but not Rear Tail Lights or Number Plate Lights.
Was a bit confused in my answers earlier. Sorry.
Apologies to Jimbo (especially), p3asa and H12 for my earlier blondness!

Hi mate,
Just tried this. No joy a funny eak noise but no beeps and they still stay on. Im wondering if our cars were PDIed at the same place at there PDI centre and they enabled something else maybe lights on all the time rather than Daytime running lights, just as a guess?
We need to speak to a VAGcom guru i think.

I have seen Golfs in Finland with the DRL's and rear lamps lit together. I think there are different codings for different markets so you should be able to get a dealer to set up the combination you want.

Yeah you could be right there mate. We've probably been "Waysided " That's the only thing I'm not a fan of on the car.. Makes me think what's the point of having side lights if the xenons are on all the time????
