I think leasing might be the best way to go with an EV right now unless open to buying a used car. And a shortish lease at that as technology is changing pretty quick.
But aside from the Mini SE (or JCW E) which is very mini inside they’re all just generic SUV’s and VW is likely binning the MEB platform soonish and going in with XPENG(?) so hopefully that’ll mean vaguely more affordable cars. VW ICE chassis quality improved massively with the MQB cars so hopefully those engineering skills will move over to developing decent handling EV’s which don’t require complex engines and emissions add ons so therefore should actually be cheaper to produce despite expensive batteries.
