Will be putting my car back to standard as I'm selling up, so will have a few nice bits to go on the classifieds R600 intake, my BBS CI-R and potentially my remus exhaust.

Any idea yet what you’ll be replacing the GTI with?
2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

I went for a 2018 Audi S4 V6 twin turbo petrol in Navarra blue in the end, ideally wanted the avant but settled for the saloon as this was up at a good price and 22k miles and the right spec! Nappa Leather, massage seats, matrix lights, sunroof, tech pack and some other silly bits.

One owner from new, all work carried out by Audi Belfast even including tyres!

The man maths went a bit far in that it will be another half tank - full tank of petrol a month but the insurance and road tax are the exact same as the gti  :grin: Also think I've sold my GTI when I was driving home as I've had a few people asking me about it before I advertised it and the usual people asking first refusal over the years.

@willniLooks really nice :cool:. I’ve always thought that Audi make great looking saloon cars - I prefer the styling of the saloon version of the A3 / S3 to the hatchback.

I’m sure it won’t be too long before the S4 gets the full works, detailing-wise :smiley:. I look forward to seeing the pictures once you’ve worked your magic on it.

I’m sure you’ll have no problem selling your GTI; a very well cared for car in the desirable, rarer three door form. It’ll be a lucky person who buys it.

Funny I went to test drive a 2023 S3 Vorsprung and walked away as the interior wasn't as nice as the mk7.5! I was walking back with the salesman talking about S4's and it was just sitting there.

I have to finish work on a 911 but hopefully get it PPF'd and detailed for end of August!

I'll be sad to see the GTI go as it's such a great car, but I'm at the stage of I either keep it for good or else move on, but luckily I should only see worst case £4.5k (ideally £3k) in depreciation over the 4 and half years I owned it while adding 46k miles on it with the exception of 2 coil packs I had zero issues.

I'm of the same opinion - the 8Y gen saloon looks better than the hatchback to my eyes although I do think the 8V suited the hatch better.

Great choice I'm sure it'll be a cracking car. Briefly considered one when I was looking but the size was completely unnecessary for me at this point in my life.

That's a shame, what was wrong with it? So back on the hunt or stick with the GTI?
