Spent most of yesterday, fighting my drivers side DCC damper. Top mounts are finished, and had Bilstein ones to go on.

What i thought would be a fairly straightforward job, having watched Volkswizards 2x4 method, was wayyyyyyy off.

Took me nearly all day to get it out. Found the drive shaft was resting on the ARB so couldn't lever the lower arm easily.

After lots of swearing and cursing, i finally got it out, and putting it back in was even more fun!!

Only got drivers done yesterday, and woke this morning aching like a b&&ch, and not willing to do the nearside today.

Maybe Sunday I'll tackle it.

Had the DSG fluid changed @c. 75k, will probably get the next change done at +40k even though VW now say it is 80k for the DQ381 box.

Minor service and phone call to say can't do MOT as rear nearside coil spring has snapped. MOT runs out today so can't drive it and they've loaned me a Tiguan eTsi thing until tomorrow. Might be under extended warranty.

Sorry to hear about broken spring. Did you notice or suspect anything had happened to break it?

It’s not something I’ve heard of and your car can’t be that old.

If you can share any more info that would be good.

Maintenance detail to the Gyeon ceramic coating and PPF. Also some additional PPF applied to wing mirror caps and infotainment screen. Car looked amazing

it's 5 years old but only has 31000 miles on it. Can't recall anything happening for it to snap but I have noticed for months now that the nearside rear looked to be sitting down further. Could just have been my imagination though. Got one side done under warranty and because I didn't want a mixture of brand new and old spring I paid for the other one to be done at the same time. I've always replaced suspension parts in pairs. All seems ok and the rear end seems a bit more planted instead of feeling loose. 🤷🏻‍♂️
