We re talking a discount of £5k, over a £2k discount on the ed35. My sentiments have been along the lines of Murrayedition35....soon we ll all be sitting in driverless cubes...so its probably worth having sme fun now. Also the GTI lacks cruise control, which was one of my key options (parents live in Scotland...)so a bit of M6, M74 action.

You can have cruise retrofitted! Infact, get the dealer to do it! Tell them you'll buy (assuming you want that car) if they retrofit cruise.

Yep cruise is £188 fitted from dealers, works out cheaper than factory fit, I had it done before picking the motor up...

I think the parts are just less than £100 for an A3 so about the same for the Golf I would imagine, anything after that is labour  it's not a massive job but it's best to know what you're doing. If you're that way inclined you could do it yourself and have someone with VAG COM code it for you

My local dealer wanted £500! Paid £160 for someone to do it at my house. What is a shame is that some people do get ripped off by these p1ss taking dealers no doubt.

Any main dealer will retro fit for £188.  I'm also getting it 'retrofitted' before delivery.  Here is the link from VW
