Is it just GTI's affected or other too?  Whaqt I'm really asking is does it affect my 2.0 tDI

Give your local dealer a ring, they will tell you if it is or isnt fella

Got mine booked in for a couple of weeks time. The girl said something about the Ignition coil - is that the same thing?

Phoned my local dealers today to ask whether my coilpack needs changing.  "Sorry sir everyone in our service department is busy, can I get them to call you back?"  So I agree and give them my number.  Do they call me back?  No they dont.  How many times has the same thing happened?  This is the third time.  f**king dealers useless bunch of w**kers!

Hi" All
Called into dealers today to check my 56 reg, the service guy checked his data base with Germany and mine needs doing.
So booked in for first thing in the morning.

Managed to get through to the Dealers today, and my coils need replacing.  He asked me if I had had a letter or something to tell me about the issue and I said no.  He said they weren't telling customers ,but if i had happened to pop in to the Dealers they would have checked my car.  Sounds like a loada bulls**t to me.  Is it me or is that really apalling service?  Surely they should have sent letters out to all affected customers as soon as the problem arose?

Had mine done this morning, I asked the same question to the service guy he says no chance of any fire risk. There was a batch that were fitted with the wrong ones apparentley.
