Coil pack recall
« on: 22 February 2011, 21:05 »
just to help out there is a recall of a VAG camapign with recalls of nearly all FSI/TFSI/MPI engines

1.8 T-6.0 MPI

For the 2.0 TFSI the affected engine codes:

AXX-BGB-BHZ-BPG-BPJ-BUL-BWA-BWE-BWT-BYK-BYD

Ignition coils with part number- 07K 905 715F, 07K 905 715D, 06H 905 115, 06F 905 115F do not need replacing as they are not affected if your ignition coil isnt one of the above part numbers they will be replaced with the revised part 07K 905 715F

hope this helps and you can check your car to see if you can have some free coil packs

just phone your dealer and if your car is affected as above part number list they will book you in FOC

Aaron

P.s Im an audi technician before anyone asks if its true haha

I looked in the front cover of my handbook - saw engine code AXX and believe that means mine needs to be replaced. That's where I'd have a look and then if your engine code matches those Aaron listed, I'd take it in. Not sure how to check part number on the ignition coil packs though
Currently in having the timing belt and water pumped changed with my local mechanic (not a sniff of me going to the stealers!) so once that's done, will take it in and get eligibility confirmed and, if necessary, coil packs changed.

Not sure how to check part number on the ignition coil packs though

The number is etched on the top side of the coil pack but only visible if the wiring connector is removed.
Without traction power is nothing!
