thanks very much!
those last pics are a bit old now, its looking a bit shinier and imo much better with the skirts and valance removed and gti trim back on, just looks a bit like a dragster now with the big profile rears

plan was to go down the garage and do them today but I was feeling far too lazy, maybe tomorrow after work :P

did a bit of work on the car today, as usuall it didnt go as planend but im happy with what I got done. keeping with the trend of the thread I have no pics :P This time its due to my phone being low battery and so it wouldnt let me use the camera

Started off by attempting to move the battery, took it all out and everything but discovered it wont fit on the drivers side and I dont have enough cable to put it in the boot so it had to go back in standard position for now, though I suppose a positive is I now know its deffinatly going in the boot :) Possibly in the spare wheel well but not decided yet, knowing my luck the first week of doing it I'll get a flat

What I did get done however was moving the coolant bottle to the drivers side and editing out a lot of the brake booster system so now instead of a load of pipework making the place look a mess it just has one good vacuum source with a check valve halfway, which is all it needs tbh (imo, play with the brake system at your own risk etc etc )

The result is a tidier engine bay so I'm pleased so far, also trying to move the battery to the passenger side made me realise I need that space for a catch can anyway so another good thing came out of it.

I'll put some pics up tomorrow if I go to the garage, if not they will be in the next installment, which will hopefully include the PCV edit, catch can installation, and battery relocation. Exciting stuff!

Just a quick update with some teaser pics of whats to come in the next few days, just waiting for the battery cable to arrive

Catch can, £19.99 from Toyosports, 15mm inlets with a bleeder screw in the bottom and viewing tube to see how full it is. Also came with some clear tubing but I may not use it though it would be handy for checking for blockages etc

2 meters of 19mm ID oil resistant marine hose and a couple of 19mm-16mm plastic reducers. I'll be using the oe T piece with built in valve in it so this is all I'll be needing for the catch can install

Also got my battery box this morning, I'll be mounting it out of the way in the boot somewhere in the corner

All I'm waiting for now is the battery cable to arrive, I already have a couple of junction box's and all the ring terminals etc I'll be needing, just need the cable so I can move the battery as where it is now is where the catch can will be going

at first it was just for cosmetics along with the brake booster pipes to get a load of clutter out from the engine bay, but after reading a few guides and the possible gains etc I wanna do it more for the engines sake as well.

Its basically just a can in the middle of the pcv system that 'catches' all the oily crap so it doesnt get put back into the engine when the air gets recirculated. If you pull the y shaped breather pipe off and see all the sh!t thats inside it, thats what it helps stop getting put back into the engine. I've also read it can help with fuel consumption something to do with keeping the octane level up in the petrol but i dont know much about that :P

edit forgot to say, gonna be putting it close to where the battery is now, exact location depends on what looks neatest with the pipe routing
