I have a mk6 GTI with xenons.

The car came from my dealer (240 miles away) with the DRL set to have the headlights and rear lights on. So its basically got dipped beam on all the time.

So it looks like to every other person on the road like i have my lights on all the time even in bright sunlight! :sad: This is now really getting on my moobs.

Anyone know what settings to change in VAGcom?

I have tried the DRL turn of sequence as listed on forums and in the manual but it does not work in my cars settings case i guess because the dealer has set something different up.

Help

Help + 1  please :sad:

I may be making a trip to that dealer my dad knows in the next few weeks to see if anything can be done

Me too. But looking at all the different responses it looks like they CANT be turned off (xenons only) nightmare!!!

Totally agree with you snoopy. I actually think the sidelights look not too bad. Hate people thinking i'm driving around with my xenons switched on for show......  :smiley:

With you as well on that.. I saw a load of new golfs on the M1 today and probably 90% + had their lights on- it just looks so wrong. Does anyone know on average how long xenons last if they're on all the time ?

You need vagcom to reprogram. I´m sure your lokal dealer can help you.
Set your new code in BYTE 18 to:
Byte 18 Bit 2
04 = 00000100
I´m not sure this will make you remove your errors, because cars whitout xenon and prductionsweek before week 45 2009 has a different software. This software can not be reprogrammed, need to change your hardware BCM.
Maybee you can find an answer in this thread
Speedo needles
VCDS Version 912 beta
Select under 17 Instruments -> 10 adaption -> Staging
and activate.
Thats it.

I thought the xenons had to be switched on all the time so that you are able to flash your high beam?

My ED30 had xenons, and flashed the full beam no probs without the xenons being on.
I don't think the full beam was xenon though  :undecided:
