I have a CW Gti and I must say I am not impressed at all with how easy the paint chips. Have several on the front bumper where the black primer/plastic shines through. Have a few on the bonnet as well and the gray undercoat is fully visible. Car is at 53000 miles (8500 km).
I had a black golf prior to this one and I had chips but nowhere near this amount. Prior to that a blue metallic Saab 9-3...almost no chips at all. The CW is way too soft and they should have given it a few more layers of paint.

I have never heard of this Swedish manufacturer CW.

I'd never have any form of paint protection on my car, would spoil the joy of cleaning it.
Proper wash, snowfoam, claying, polishing, glazing, sealing, waxing, more waxing to fade........
Yawn.
am1w, I'm right there with gossa, its great doing your own detailing.

I hate wearing gloves!

I hear the only waxing you do is your bikni line

 Si on top form again.

What have people got and what would people recommend for paint protection. Superguard, toughseal, Others ?
and does anyone know where i can get it done? I live in Hull my car is arriving within the next couple of weeks (maybe Pickup on  Sunday) and it's white so i might protect the paintwork.

what about ventureshield paint protection film?

Good morning!
Turns yellow at the edges especially on light coloured cars so I have been told.
And, it is quite expensive. Good for stone chips though!

2x things I think VW are very bad at,

1. Painting cars, they chip and scratch much easier than other manufacturers.

2. Wheel quality, but I guess thats BBS's problem. Never seen wheels corode so quickly.

I think they are pretty good.
You should see the paintwork on Honda Civics. Full of orange peel and so thin that you can practically see the undercoat!
