I will tell you now if had one for a week , your next golf would be DSG? Brilliant piece of engineering mate!! Enjoy steve

Steve, my MKVI is manual and it replaced a DSG Scirocco. DSG is a brilliant piece of engineering, for an auto box and not everyone wants an automatic mate. Simples.

Gossa i was dead against Automatics, wouldnt go near them, My first 3 MK5's gti were manual's , But one had a problem done under warrenty. They gave me a lone car for week DSG, I nearly cried when i had to give it back. 1 week later I orded GTI with DSG, never looked back since. Yes they do have there problems but my car;s always under warrenty, they are so versatile , paddles , semi auto, sport mode, LC. Need i say any more!! enjoy mate

Different products suit different people.  I can understand why people like the manual transmission, but I also find the DSG is wonderful.  Both have their advantages, and it's down to personal preference.

I don't feel any need to insult people who have chosen manual cars.  And since I drove one myself for nearly 40 years I don't think I have anything to prove.  What sort of insecurity is it that makes (some) manual owners insult DSG owners?

Rolfe.

That's because your about 75 and your insulting days are over not to mention many other things, your not Nosh's granny are you ?

Kev i will  insult you if dont leave rolf alone!!
Ps nosh's granny made laugh!! hahaha

Yes I know im a dick at the best of times, but like Rolfe, I am allowed an opinion too no matter how extreme, some people tend to forget that.

I can understand why a select few manual owners insult DSG owners as your constantly bombarded by DSG owners saying its better, its this, its that, its faster, its blah blah blah.

It's nice, I like it, it suits me, but the manual has advantages as well.  I can understand different people preferring one or the other depending on your priorities.

I can't see any reason to have a spat about it.

Rolfe.

So funny that a stupid thing like how gears change raises so much emotion and conflict. DSG is for pussies that can't drive though....................ahhh, you fell for it!
