and with petrol prices coming down 40% I think I'm laughing
I'll believe that when I see it. Read in the paper on Saturday that supermarkets where dropping it to 99.9p but the massive tesco down the road from me is stil 106.9 :( along with everyone station in my area.

My local has been at 99.9 since last Thursday.. With me getting a nice average of 27mpg since calming down a little I think Im doing quite well.

As for when my car lease expires late next year, I will be in the market for a new car with no car to part ex. Sounds like it will be a perfect time to buy if things keep going the way they are

The only fly in your ointment R32 is that the leasing company's are currently paying very high interest rates to their lenders which is keeping prices steady

It strange how many people have noticed that R32's are sat on forecourts not selling. Havent seen that happening at my 2 local dealers. Prices have remaind quite stable and seem to be shifting fine. Im hoping for a drop over the next year to be honest :lipsrsealed:

there was in Derby when i last went, i could have had a same age r32 for less than the ed30, that said my Notts dealer has had an nearly new Gti for months and have dropped the pice by 4k since they first advertised it

I'd love to see Phil Mc with a 300bhp car, but I know for him it isn't on his radar. Now when he has the "loose change" for the milly and (maybe) an intake, he'll be happy as I know it is the sound he loves

May even free up a couple of those horsies that RR is looking for

£15999 for a GTi, rather save 2 more grand for a Edition 30  being that ive had both.

Bargain car for 16k a GTi, say that this time last year, you'd think " what planets he on"

but that wouldnt be a brand new ed30??!!?  and that coming from you can only really make me laugh,         after all, this time last year the ed30 was a waste of space??. was it not??

I am with you. I remember PM saying how meaningless E30 was. Not he in earnest protects its honor.  If he'd only get it remapped, then we'd have another convert in 300hp club.
why would i want to Peskarik when youve just admitted the cars Not Drivable in 1st and 2nd Gears?????

Trust me a 300 + bhp ED30 is a lot more fun than a 237 bhp one
Been in a Blufin one recently at JKM, and the only i liked was the milltek sound T88OMM  .

And performance, well going against another Bluefin ed30 manual at Speed, side by side untill around 80mph, it wasnt really enough to make my draw drop, as i was only loosing 10 yards over 500 yards stretch beyond that. Isnt really exactly Blitzing a standard car nor making it "much more Fun" as you put it  T88OMM

From what I hear the Bluefin is a relatively tame map (correct me if im wrong). The difference between my car now and when it was standard is night and day. I have had other performance modifications i.e. Milltek and fuel pump, that add power on top of the remap. My car is probably in excess of 315 BHP and it is an absolute hoot to drive. Im not trying to prove anything at all here Phil I am just trying to express my point of view. You have probably got a few years on me so maybe when I get to your age I may think differently

my personal opinion is for day to day driving, im happy with its power, if i remap, im into licence loosing territory being able to "use 4000rpm in 6th".I already have a mate who owns an edition30 serving a driving ban for speeding in his "300"bhp :undecided:  Ed30 trying to pass some Suburu in the process. (black one on Pistonheads a little while ago).

For track day usage, couldnt agree more, the car will certainly go like a steam train,  but for a family runner as i have 2 kids under 6 , its not high on my priority list.
respect
but you miss quite some fun!

4000rpm in 6th is very deep in license losing territory, true. Maybe even in prison-sentence territory already

in Britain car sales are falling.
In Switzerland they are rising, so no "steal of the century" here
