£15999 for a GTi, rather save 2 more grand for a Edition 30 being that ive had both.

Bargain car for 16k a GTi, say that this time last year, you'd think " what planets he on"

but that wouldnt be a brand new ed30??!!?  and that coming from you can only really make me laugh,  after all, this time last year the ed30 was a waste of space??. was it not?? 

I am with you. I remember PM saying how meaningless E30 was. Not he in earnest protects its honor.  If he'd only get it remapped, then we'd have another convert in 300hp club.

why would i want to Peskarik when youve just admitted the cars Not Drivable in 1st and 2nd Gears??   

Trust me a 300 + bhp ED30 is a lot more fun than a 237 bhp one

it is fully drivable in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and especially 4th-6th gears!  
But you cannot cane it in 1st and 2nd, because of crazy wheel hop, especially on uneven or wet surface.  
But being FWD with 300hp and 1357kg of weight, one really feels bhp/weight advantages wasted in 1st and 2nd, compared to other cars. What can I say, once you experience the acceleration in 6th gear from 4000 rpm in a 300bhp ED30, you'd understand what is wasted in 1st and 2nd gear, all due to FWD.
BTW, standard ED30's in-gear times are very similar to 135i (stock), imagine how faster than 135i 300hp E30 is! (again, in-gear. from standing start E30 is dead meat)

my personal opinion is for day to day driving, im happy with its power, if i remap, im into licence loosing territory being able to "use 4000rpm in 6th".I already have a mate who owns an edition30 serving a driving ban for speeding in his "300"bhp   Ed30 trying to pass some Suburu in the process. (black one on Pistonheads a little while ago).

For track day usage, couldnt agree more, the car will certainly go like a steam train,  but for a family runner as i have 2 kids under 6 , its not high on my priority list.

Been in a Blufin one recently at JKM, and the only i liked was the milltek sound T88OMM  .

And performance, well going against another Bluefin ed30 manual at Speed, side by side untill around 80mph, it wasnt really enough to make my draw drop, as i was only loosing 10 yards over 500 yards stretch beyond that. Isnt really exactly Blitzing a standard car nor making it "much more Fun" as you put it  T88OMM

I know i tell you alot about remaping but i dont mean to get on to you about it chap, the choice is yours of course and its good you can enjoy the car in its standard form, and i also do see your point about power, as i generally feel allot more relaxed and less likely to do anything daft in the wifes car

Pointless but just goes to show and shockingly worrying how much our cars are losing their what was" good Residuals".

I hope this trade In market improves soon . Its a bitter pill to swallow if you looking to change.
