Wierd feeling coming from the front

Well it seems my luck hasnt lasted long. My golf seems to be making a clunking noise when going round a bend and then when you get straight it seems to make a weiring noise that then goes away.
Mate said to check bottom arms which i have done and cant find any movement/play in them. Also when i spin the wheel back and forth with not much travel there seems to be abit of play.
Any idea's on what this could be?

after having a good route around it seems that i need to replace the passenger side Driveshaft as there is play coming from it when rotating the disc. So only had the car 2 weeks and already something has gone wrong, brings back memories of the calibra.

it seems like the wheel is vibrating when going round a bend and in a straight line.

I live in Lincolnshire mate, bought the car from North Wales near Greenfield. Which side did your driveshaft come lose at? was it gearbox end or hub end?
Also can someone tell me the size of the NUT that holds the shaft in the HUB, is it a 30mm?
