if you guys look on the golfmkv fourum many members have already done this mod

there is a diy on there aswell

they connected it to the side markings which we dont have on our euro gtis, i guess we could connect it to the fog lamps?

you need the GT lower grilles and about half inch cut out for the best fit.

Looks really nice on the GTI but it seems to me as a bit of the clash as the two different grills have different designs....but i guess there are ways to work around this!

OSIR Front Splitter - OSIR Rear Diffuser - RNS 510 - JL Audio Cleansweep - JL Audio 400/4 Amplifier - JL Audio ZR650 - Recaro Bucket Seats - 3.2 V6 of Pure Power!

looks better with the honeycomb grills, dont like the gt slats at the honeycomb clash, there must be a better way of doing it than this!!

....As I posted on that forum, I don't want to lose the honeycombe style of the lower grilles. That Grey owner has done it, so it obviously is possible.

I think I might print off that pic of the Grey GTI and have a chat with my body guy - He loves a challenge!

im guessing in a few years time GTI owners are gonna rice out the GTI era like they did with the mk4 :(

the mk5 is the gti reborn again, why mess with it putting aftermarket mods like this on it?

ive seen some real horrid mods b4 but this has got to be the worse ive seen.. i mean come on guys these kinda lights are what you see on big sedans and jeeps not a sporty hatchback, the lights are to big to go in preportion with the front of gti.

im only 22 myself and think this is a boy racer mod, they look kool on audis and should stay on audis.

if any of you are going to the GTI show this sunday take some photos of a mk5 with the leds (if there is any with em ;)

if you dont like modding your car then dont, nobody is asking you to. others enjoy putting time and money into their car to get benafits that they will enjoy. as for the ricer comment nobody is sticking 2 fast 2 furious jap crap to their car, also which 4x4 SUV's have these lights as standard except the audi?? i havnt seen any.

....Fair enough, and I DO respect your opinion .

However, if you've driven much on very fast unrestricted roads in Europe and experienced the very obvious safety benefits of DRL's, you might revise your opinion. The mandatory DRL law coming in 2011 is for perceived safety reasons.

I'd rather be seeing cars travelling faster than mine, in either direction, with DRL's than dipped heads - Much less blinding and much easier to more accurately gauge their distance and speed of approach etc.
