audi daylamps
« on: 03 March 2008, 16:41 »
just looked at that kit that steve posted and had me thinking again about some daylamps like in the R8. anyways just had a quick scan on fleebay and found these. what are peoples opinion on these, i think they would look very very cool but would have to be on a modded car not std. maybe suite a car like RR's. i might look into getting these once i have full OSIR kit

I like them and i really like how they look on the R32. Only problem is my car is going to be new and VW have already told me they wont do it for me and it will void warranty so....i dont think i would do it right now

....I've been seriously wanting some Daylight Running Lights (DRL's) as they are correctly called, since my last trip down the German autobahns. They are a very effective safety feature as you can better judge the distance of that fast approaching car in your rear view mirror without getting blinded even in bright sunlight.

Not the best pic but at over 120 mph (GPS) it ain't that easy!

I like this American GTI's DRL's but I haven't managed to find out how they were fitted.

would this be road legal in the UK?...I ask due to the fact that previously i was stopped by an over zealous police officer stating that unless it was foggy,...then it was illegal to use the front fog lamps...i used them cos i think it looked cool...

So, would the local plod know any different? Or more likely would he get his monthly quota of tickets and telling offs by mistaking these cool lights for front fogs?  :undecided:
