I agree with most of those points... Only the example I was talking about was at 2am in morning a couple of streets away from where I live. I drove past a small side street just as a police volvo was turning the way I was coming from. I noticed in my rear view that they were turning around and the blue lights were on. I simply turned into a few back streets at first opportunity and lost them.. luckily i managed to pull into my garage as stated. Im not likely to get into a full out chase as 08Mista said but I am sure things are slightly different in SA where maybe its the norm. It certainly isn’t where I live. I just feel that had I stopped and been given a ticket it would not have benefited anyone. I would have had 3 points and a fine. Wasted police time where they could have been out catching people committing burglaries at that time in the morning, not mention saving tax payers money. Yes I know the police get wrong.. we all do. But if I get the opportunity to make sure their mistakes are not highlighted by 3 points on my licence then I am going to take it. I am happy to use my own judgement.. You would not catch me going over the speed limit down a residential road at 3pm but when the roads are clear and its 2 in the morning.. I just drive as fast as I feel comfortable and safe.

GRANTW... when did I say it was OK to outrun police. there are certain instances where I have felt I am being unnecessarily picked upon by the police.. and if they were honest about it then they would also tell you that they approached me because of my appearance and the car i drive. That is whats known as prejudice. i dont punch every copper i see just because I was once punched by one! So yes I do dislike police.. but it doesnt mean that they are all bad and I know that, but many dont do much to rectify the image they have.

R32 UK, your comments are pretty prejudice towards the police if you read them then too! Sure, I am not standing up for ALL police, but what I am standing up for is a little bit of consideration on discussing outrunning the police, and sorry to take this conversation a little off topic, racing, max'ing cars, insurance fronting etc..  it all sounds rather dull and depressing that people think that the laws in this country are 'out to get them'

your entitled to your opinion though R32 UK, and I dont want to sound like I am fousing purely on your coments!

Im going to retreat and leave this thread
I leave with this:

Its normally the people that scream and shout at others who break the law, that in fact are the real law breakers.

Nuff said from me.

R32W  - no worries - just wanted to get some points down, wasn't really aimed at you, and I don't want to cause any offence.

Ahhh well thats ok then!! I am in property develpment, and own a retail store also.. How about you??

As for all the other comments, there is no need to aplogize for any posts. If that is your opinion then there is not much I can do about that. I have had a number of run in's with the police and do not have a criminal record. Make of that what you will... but my opinion of them is not likely to change much either. They like to waste my time, and I like to bad mouth them. Just about makes us equal (except that I am right in my judgement and they are wrong). :smug:

I get them through reg but you wont find much from leeds for that price unless its in a real dive which isnt worth touching. City centre has been so abused with flats its untrue. Only real good places for development are being eaten up fast but I guess its the same everywhere. Go to know your sh1t if you know what I mean which I am sure you do.. Surrounding areas can be cheap and good though... but who wants to spend time in bradford ??

Definately pop up if you get a chance.. great for a night out even if you dont find anything worth a punt! And no sh1tting on my doorstep pls

In reply to all the people who say "I don't speed, I like the police they're just doing their jobs" At least one of you must have a GTI, R32 or similar, why buy one of these quick cars if you're only ever going to go a maximum if 70mph. A lot of people have had bad experiences with the police me included which causes resentment, for example fighting in town centre at night, over 5 policemen around and nothings done about it yet they'll fine you for going 5 mph over the speed limit at stupid o clock in the morning, some of the police are just power mad wastes of space.
