The dedicated DCC for 18 and 19 inch wheels - I wonder if that is for tuning damping rates to unsprung mass?

Could bugger up some wanting to swap for other wheels with quite different weights.

I wonder how that would pan out when swapping for winter wheels, particularly in markets where winter tyres are mandatory?

Its interesting on the 19 DCC.... as you say, its got to be tuning and should fix a lot of the problems. Plus they only have 1 choice of 19's so its going to be pretty precise.

But then chuck in the 19's sports suspension option? Can you tick that and 19 DCC?

I note when you look at the 19's on the configurator it says "Progressive steering" which it doesn't on the 18's.

 :undecided:

Reading around this seems like it is genuinely something different with a Audi derived steering rack. I wonder how much of the "feel" reviewers have talked about might be down to this.... all of the press cars have 19's and DCC....

And then you have to choose between "Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) variable suspension settings, sport comfort and normal - for 19" alloys" or "Sport Suspension for 19" wheels"

Which means there isn't a choice of 18 rated suspension with 19's....

The lack of explanation of these things and the pros and cons is crazy. I know the Mk7 was the same but this is nuts.

You will be forever baffled by the configurator. I find the brochure and price list far more informative and reliable.

Progressive steering is standard on R Line, GTE and GTi models.

Assuming the features table on that is correct ;-)

Not saying the brochure is infallible, but at least it's not as vague or completely random like the configurator can be.

IFAIK fog light-gate was caused by VW 'forgetting' to fit the fog lights rather than a problem with the brochure.

Oh yes. Interesting to see the detail on that.

Surely it depends on whether you are actually lowering the unsprung weight? Just because you run seventeen winters doesn't mean it's a lighter combo does it?

Plus people have swapped to lighter forged alloys for years and nobody ended up in a ditch?

I'm no expert, just observing what is written and done.
