So do u need the pro code to alter sound aktor and light settings or can i do that with just the ebdeleven itself ?

Short answer is no, and if that's all you want to change it'll do it fine. Like most things though you end up looking deeper and further for other tweaks which require detailed coding changes.

Anyone in Milton Keynes area got one? I just want to switch off soundaktor so reluctant to buy just for that.

I considered manually disconnecting it which looks easy, but to have a cable connector lying loose (even if i managed to tape it up) goes against the grain when there's an option to switch it off.

Thanks itavaltalainen - have PM'd you.

Also dropped by my local indi VAG specialist. They didn't know what a soundaktor which was worrrying, but plugged in their laptop. Found what we thought might be it, but it was in German so not sure and decided not to de-activate it just in case!

Not too impressed by them....

So 3 months on I've been a happy bunny - peace and quiet with the soundakto disabled.

Had to take her in to the dealer to check a break warning light (they found no fault), and I swear the soundaktor is active again. They swear they haven't touched the settings, but then said anyway it's driver set-up via the mode (which is not the same as disabling but they don't acknowlege that).

Is it possible/likely they reset everything to factory settings and switched the soundaktor back on without realising?

mike: Hi - anything is "possible", but I suspect it is unlikely unless the dealer re-flashed the firmware in the control module (which I would have thought that they would have mentioned)
Anyway, it's an easy thing to check. Just log-into the Structure Borne Sound control module, then navigate to the only adaptation channel in this module and check if it's value is set to 0
