As there are now few R more owners on this forum, it would be good to find out your preferred Driver Profile Settings, in various scenarios.

It's still 3 months till I get my own R and before I can try these out for myself, so it would be useful and make for interesting reading (to me anyway).  My R will have DSG with DCC, so interested particularly in Driver Profiles/DCC combinations.  Coming from a lowly MK6 GTI, I don't currently have the luxury of driver settings other than ACC.  I know there's stuff over on the R Forum about this but nice to have something on here

Over to you R drivers........
(GTI and GTD'ers welcome too)

Just came back from the Metrocentre, and the car has been stuck in Race from the off. A few bouts of "tsking" endured, but that Soundaktor sounds like you're screaming the car even when you're just pressing on a little. I pointed out a few times that I was only doing 70 or 80mph - it definitely sounds like you're doing more than you are. To save the "tsking" when the missus is in the car I think it'll have to be down to 30% of not switched off completely, which is a shame, because I quite like it.

I will probably put it in individual and everything into Race except the aircon (eco) later today. I need to set my passenger mirror dip on reverse and turn off the front assist (where the car starts giving you the front parking sensor feedback every time you pull away slowly). Then I need to put the rest of the radio stations in. The R seems to be picking up more DAB stations than my GTD did, I wonder whether the MK7 Golf has had a DAB antenna upgrade since I got my GTD back in 2013? No DCC on mine.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I think I might actually quite like the Soundaktor, but could be eating my words in a few months.  Will be interested to hear what you think if you do turn it down later.

Sounds like Mrs MH is expert at 'tsking'.  Have you bought her those 'necessary' shoes/sandals/converse yet or if she gonna have to part with her own hard earned cash   The only time I 'tsk' is when someone attempts to eat in my car

Individual mode for everything except suspension which is either normal or comfort when on the road as the car has more complience

Finally drove the wife's car which has soundaktor still turned on and it sounded full on, so pleased i've turned mine off

Eating in a car is a big no no. I don't even let people drink water in my car. Everyone is warned before they get in though.

I'm weird so I have mine in race mode using the paddles 95% of the time I'm on my own. (I have also got a piper cross intake and done the flapper mod). Or with the wife in the car. It goes to 'wife mode' which is individual with normal engine, comfort suspension and Eco everything else.

Does Mrs W like it?  Or she intending to turn it down/off.  This one really does divide owners, I will no doubt discover my own preference in time.

I like the sound actuator on the R- a weird hybrid noise of a VR6 and a flat 4 which is weird but I like it. Must admit I do sometime switch modes if I actually want to hear my music though....it's bloody loud!

The noise is significantly better than the GTI in comparison though.

Haha, same here.  Drinking was banned for a while ever since the great KFC Oreo Crushem milkshake incident of 2013.  My then 7 year old dropped it on the back seat.  Still picking bits of biscuit out of the rear footwell carpet even now

Eating an absolute no go though.  I once made my very hungry partner stand in the drizzle in a supermarket car park to finish his sandwich before letting him get in the car.

As with you, all passengers are forewarned of the rules
