Now, now Mr Nutjob, people get told off for baiting you know    I bet you can see and hear your R coming from miles off, with the maxxed up sound and lights.  In fact I'm sure I can hear it from my office window right now

I agree about Race mode, this is when you will want to hear the Soundaktor at its loudest.  But, sadly there will be times when I may need to use other modes.  Realistically, I’m probably not going to be doing the school run in full-on Race mode, although it does involves some tasty quiet rural roads…..tempting   :lipsrsealed:

As Remlapeel says, it’ll probably be a case of just choosing a quieter mode when the music is the priority – surely that’s the benefit of having the different modes at your fingertips.

MH - I have no issues whacking up the volume if needs be but that would defeat the object of both the Soundaktor and Dynaudio.

Me?  Baiting?  Never!

Actually, to be fair I rarely have it in S mode in town, there's no point.  Well, not unless there's some lads looking over and I want to show off a bit

As for the soundaktor noise, its different with us DSGers - when you're in D its toned down, so on the school run its not an issue.  Its only loud when you're in S mode.  Obviously if you're in a manual like MH he'll have to decide on what level he wants it set.  My morning school run is in D (cause I'm half asleep), but the little 'un enjoys a S mode drive home in the evening, especially with the windows down to hear the 'fart' noises

MH - I've been called a lot worse so I'll take that!

...or you'll become the Master-Baiter.

How spooky!  I was going to describe Asker with those very words the other day, but though better of it

Yep that pretty much describes my early morning drive.  Drive mode was made for the school run and half asleep parents.  My daughter loves Sport mode, she's a bit of a thrill seeker where driving is concerned.  No idea where she get that from

Does it have an external effect to the outside noise as well?
I thought the soundaktor was purely inside and it was only the GTD with the Sport &Sound pack that had an external speaker!
That does sound interesting.

I may be completely wrong here, but it certainly sounds louder outside when in S mode.  I'm sure someone will correct me though!

Trying out normal mode on the way home, purely for the soundaktor noise. For the 3 mile stretch to the wife's place of work on the way home, the noise that the Soundaktor is putting out seems about right. Sounds about 30% of Race mode's output.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Home already? Part-timer

That sounds probably about right.  Did you have your stereo on at the same time?  Could you hear it ok at a reasonable volume level?

So have you now listened to the Soundaktor in all the modes?  If not go out and try some more and feedback

If you put the gearbox into S the two outer exhausts open and make a noticeable difference to the sound outside. Mine is permanently open by disconnecting the flap plugs
