In theory the £100 option would allow you to use iPhone sat nav on the standard composition media display, as that is how other manufacturers have implemented CarPlay

Was just having a look on the VW website and noticed the Polo, Passat and Scirocco have all had a 27/4/2015 update to their price list, but nothing yet for the Golf.  There's a lot of standard Navs being thrown around so it would make sense if the GTI and GTD got it.

I also noticed that the Car-Net ‘App-Connect’ is coming in at £100 on Composition Media and Standard Nav, but no extra cost on the Pro Nav.  It's a bit out of order charging anything extra for a bit of connectivity that's supposed to be central to what the new stereos have to offer.

Current golf price list is now very outdated, surprised they haven't released a new one. We're missing 2016 changes, price rises and any spec enhancements if still happening!

Wanting an extension to 5 years for my new R before it gets here. Looked on the configurator and it's gone up to £550. Then I look on the current pricelist and it's still just £495.

I think i'll have to trust the pricelist (as conveniently it is cheaper! ). The configurator is messed up.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Yes. Golf one is still dated 1st of April (which is kind of ironic, given the conversations going on on here!)
I think all that changed on 1st of April was the finance offer.

Hi,

New to the forum, thanks for all the info on this thread. I'm holding off ordering a GTI given that no two options lists seem to be the same on any VW page or the leasing list I have. I've kept an eye on the leasing list options and things have appeared such as the car-net option at £83 but information is still scarce. Just noticed that the price lists on the German site have been pulled awaiting an update. Not sure how long they have been like that but can only hope we are about to get some new ones here in the UK.

Cheers, Neil.

Welcome Neil

Interesting that the .de site has a similar issue; begs the question as to whether there's a supply problem of parts possibly, such as the new head units or just plain too many of the old ones they need shot of first.
You're right about leasing lists etc and it's interesting that on carwow there's mention of end of April price rises only coming in at the end of May "when stocks clear". I'm not sure if that's a standard thing to happen as I only checked now because of the weird price anomalies.
I'm taking half an interest at the moment as I'd be tempted to chuck in an order myself if there was a chance of getting stuff chucked in at pre price increase retail costs rather than waiting another 12 months to see if an Ed40 appears.

Yes, was exactly that, confirmation by the dealer after they had confirmation from vw uk.
Not ordered yet,  and the supposed freebies would have probably tipped the balance in favour of buying a gti.

Never mind.

Yeah, that's back luck mate.  Are you inclined to look elsewhere now?

Mind you, if you leave it a week or so, VW will probably change their minds again!

I'm I'm 2 minds about whether to get a new car but gti is/was top of my list (like many on here, the gti is a car I've always wanted to have and the latest one is as good as they get, perhaps other than an immaculate mk2 16v on oak green, but they are quite pricey and definitely don't have winter pack, keyless or nav!).

From the looks of it neither will a new GTI or GTD but what you will have is a nice price increase

Good job I didn't change last weekend. Do other German brands have this issue or is it jus VW

Not sure of the etiquette of linking adverts on here, but, looks like a 27 year old one has same value as a the pcp gmfv on a 3 yr 30k gti.
Should have got one of those and a tom tom for the nav aspect...

And looking at the page before the model specific configurator  (where gte gti gtd and r all on same page) clicking on 'key features'and then list all features still shows the nav winter and keyless as standard on gti/d

Its showing as 'Composition Media System (CMS) as I look at it. And 'key features' is a table entry - not something you click on, on the page I am looking at anyway. Can you provide a link please?
