Are you able to disclose where you've had this confirmed as I've asked a dealer the same thing who has asked vw themselves who have been unable to confirm this.

Just went through the configurator again and there are now no changes to the standard spec i.e KESSY, DNS & Winter Pack are all extra.

Yes. A pity in the case of someone considering a new order. The changes justified the price increases (and explained the recent disparity in the price of the tech pack on the gti vs the r and the gt)

Unbelievable!!  Its all back to how it was now - no additional spec items. Its a shame VWUK cannot be called to task over this - very unprofessional 

What will happen tomorrow? I actually feel sorry for the dealers who have to interface with this nonsense every day.

It seems to happen all the time when VW change something.
I think the best option is to keep visiting the site and when those little windows that pop up asking you for your opinion appear you have your chance to vent your spleen about the constant misinformation given.

If it is genuine, then surely it's in their interest to fix it quickly, as a new order that had the cost added, yet it was standard, would have to be adjusted (?!) But a customer 'just browsing' would be more likely to buy if the better spec were there?
Unless it is to stop people who've just ordered adjusting the order to benefit from the changes  (although 920 price increase should compensate vw for most of that, and I'm sure vw  can afford it anyway! )

Sadly both.  It's ridiculous, how is any poor prospective car buyer supposed to know what they are getting and for how much.  If it was one of the big supermarkets they'd be taken to task.

Had a message back from a dealer who had confirmation that this was a mistake earlier in the week and that the options have not been added to the gti/gtd.

Just an upgrade to a 6.5inch screen from 5.8.  Which, if I'm honest, is a bit steep for a 900 quid or so price rise.
