Basic nav, Winter pack and Keyless are now standard on GTI and GTD - the sat nav screen will be up-sized to 6.5" from build |Week 22 production onwards (basically all new orders).

Wheels stay the same - any other incongruities you have spotted are simply typos.

Yeah I get that, but my point is the inconsistency is getting silly. The VW website, price list (dated 01/04/15) and the data they are giving out to lease companies etc (as in my post) do not match!

They don't seem to have changed the option prices either. Discover Pro is still showing as £1.7k but it should be less if DNS is standard, and winter pack if you spec leather adds £250 even though its supposed to already have

Don't give too much credibility to the configurator - its not an accurate tool for doing the job it was intended to do (unfortunately). Pay more attention to the 'printed' pricelist.

So this week the price rise went on the Gti as expected.  And earlier in the week, the base nav, winter pack and keyless all showed as standard features on the gti.  (and I therefore requested a revised finance quote as the configuration I am looking at is effectively  bit cheaper, and theoretically, higher base spec should improve residuals vs an optioned up car to the same spec) and it was a bit cheaper.

However, now the extra kit has gone from the standard spec list (price rise still there) and the GTD Estate still has it added!

I gather standard spec doesn't actually change until BW22, and no new factory order would be earlier than that (I assume).  Aside from the various comments re: configurator accuracy, is this just because a new car from stock might not have those features (yet still the price rise, I assume?!)

Unclear from what I see now.  Difficult to get the right answer from dealers as they seem to consult the configurator!

Not one to split hairs..... but...

There is a difference between the spec changes that VW (the German parent company/manufacturer) introduce as changes to the basic build standard of the base car and then there are changes that a concessioner/importer can introduce to their country specific range by simply making selections from the various options offered by the former (exemplified by the fact no two countries have the same basic spec).

For example the media/nav system upgrade to a larger screen size/gen II standard etc is a manufacturer lead change being introduced BW22 on the production line and applies to all markets. The other UK spec changes such as standard winter pack etc are instigated by VWUK and they can do that at any time by simply changing the build code for a standard UK GTI or whatever trim level.

My GTi order was submitted last week (CW17) prior to inflation price rise. I ordered Tech Pack and Parking Pack (as they appeared on configurator). The order has not yet been accepted by VW and the dealer is being quite evasive (been waiting for some confirmation since Monday).

I expect my BW to be after CW22. But no idea whether I'll be getting Keyless and Winter Pack...

We shall see. Right now, just hoping I managed to get in before the price rise. If not, it'll probably be a cancelled order to be honest...

Sounds like the dealer is out of allocation so stalling the order. You will get the new spec features as they will be standard to UK spec cars - although it might be an idea to ensure the option codes are on the order just in case!
