TR looks good on a mk7 but best on a GTD in my opinion as you lose the red GTI trim bits a little. Red looks fantastic when it's really polished up.
Carbon Grey looks classy but is dark so will be a pain to look after depending on what use the car gets and your cleaning regime.
Toss a coin!
My personal view is mk7's look the best in light colours to show off the angles and lines especially under street lighting or good sunlight.
White looks really good on GTI's but it's becoming a bit ubiquitous and will no doubt go out of fashion sooner or later.
If I was ordering right now I'd take the plunge on Tungsten I reckon, just to be a bit different. Or if I lost my nerve then silver, but at the end of the day the GTI looks good in all colours but doesn't look great in any colour (maybe Oryx?) as they're all a bit 'dull'.
At the end of the mk2's life and half way through the mk3 they brought in some quite good colours for the GTI so fingers crossed VW UK suddenly feel brave, but I have a feeling they won't.
I dropped a workmate off at a local VW specialist on Friday afternoon as he was having some work done on his R32 (over rated car) and there was a bright blue mk2 GTI (with full engine conversion) which looked fantastic. I love that colour on a GTI and also the Jade Green they did briefly in 1991. Showing my age now so I'll just shut up...
