My current gtd deal ends next sept.

What is the price increase coincidentally. I was on coast2coast brokers site they had the leathers with an electric as an option (2700 option mind  )

I'm torn between tr and carbon grey.

Mrs thinks I'm only test driving I hope I can restrain myself and not order to secure the price. With the dealership contribution it equates to 16% discount if I use the brokers.

Price increase in a GTI?
It looks to be £940 or something, but gen 2 nav, keyless and poss winter pack now standard.
If you order VERY quick you might get the extras but beat the price rise. I'd almost be tempted to do that myself just to 'get one over' on VW but no doubt they'd pull a trick to get the rug out from under my feet!!!

It might be worth running the GTD another year and seeing what deals are about as the Golf will have been around quite a while then so will have to have deals running to keep up with newer competitors.
Tech is moving so fast it's anyone's guess what will be available by next summer.

Mind you, there are really good GTI deals to be had right now. There's no right and wrong answer, it's what suits you.

Thanks exonian.

Let's see how it goes. I'm still torn between colours too.

I may end up leaving it until Xmas time. Let's see what the stealer says today. Off to see what my car is worth.

TR looks good on a mk7 but best on a GTD in my opinion as you lose the red GTI trim bits a little. Red looks fantastic when it's really polished up.
Carbon Grey looks classy but is dark so will be a pain to look after depending on what use the car gets and your cleaning regime.
Toss a coin!

My personal view is mk7's look the best in light colours to show off the angles and lines especially under street lighting or good sunlight.
White looks really good on GTI's but it's becoming a bit ubiquitous and will no doubt go out of fashion sooner or later.
If I was ordering right now I'd take the plunge on Tungsten I reckon, just to be a bit different. Or if I lost my nerve then silver, but at the end of the day the GTI looks good in all colours but doesn't look great in any colour (maybe Oryx?) as they're all a bit 'dull'.
At the end of the mk2's life and half way through the mk3 they brought in some quite good colours for the GTI so fingers crossed VW UK suddenly feel brave, but I have a feeling they won't.
I dropped a workmate off at a local VW specialist  on Friday afternoon as he was having some work done on his R32 (over rated car) and there was a bright blue mk2 GTI (with full engine conversion) which looked fantastic. I love that colour on a GTI and also the Jade Green they did briefly in 1991. Showing my age now so I'll just shut up...

Thought about limestone grey and tungsten silver too.

I remember the Helios Blue mark 2. I also had the colour concept mark 3 in jazz blue and the mint green.

VW haven't been adventurous with the colours since the mark 3 colour concept.

Serious question, is the tech pack worth it now considering that standard Nav is free with a slightly bigger screen. I was never that big on the dynaaudio anyway.

I'm torn by it as I don't think I would use the hard drive to its full capability.

Decisions decisions decisions.  :undecided:

Perhaps a better combo would be the free nav (with larger screen) and paying for Dynaudio - you then get the best of all worlds for less money then the old optional sat-nav with a smaller screen!

Exactly what I was thinking of doing. Great minds and all that.

I do like the bigger screen mind.

If I could land the car at pre-increase price I think I'd plump for the tech pack.

That's what I though price to change wasn't attractive for me not desperate to change still enjoy my GTD so I will leave it for 6 months
