Scratch what I said above - my dealer has now just told me I'm BW39.  Sick of this.

Hope you get on that ship MH, at least some of us are having better news!

 So they can move BWs after BW confirmed then?  Well... I guess this is obviously true really, but yet again why can't they be honest with their customers?  "BW means starting any time that week... no wait it means any time within 2 weeks".  "Build week means it is locked in and will happen... no wait we can move it after assuring you we won't!" grrr, think I need to update the things VW say thread!

PS: I'll edit my signature a bit, perhaps its offending some... I can understand that

It doesn't offend me Bear, because by the end of the week I could well have the same sig

I really don't understand how BW33 confirmed means BW39

Doesn't bother me either Bear, you've earned the right! ;)

Stick with it matchboy, as easy as it is for me to say, it will be worth it and far more satisfying when you do get it knowing you didn't buckle!

You say that, but at the moment I'm looking at a minimum 28 week period from order to delivery.  That's a hell of a long time to wait for any car, let along a Golf.  I do love the GTI, but my patience is the thinnest its ever been today.

Completely agree mate, I think even 16 weeks is absolutely ridiculous, let alone the 20 I'll have waited or the 28 that you will have, assuming you stick with it.  I guess it all depends on what else is out there and if you really do like the alternative, M135i being one in particular.  For me there is nothing out there that touches the GTI in terms of looks, kit, refinement and general everyday balance.  So, I'd have waited no matter what.

Nothing does touch it in terms of looks I agree, and the M135i for eg is more expensive to run - but it is more refined and has a better cabin, and is obviously quicker.  I don't want to change as I love GTI's, and this one is special, but 28 weeks - really??  Anyway, I'll stop moaning now as I'm boring myself!

Mine has been stuck on being built for over a week now,is it actually being built ?Like most of you I have totally lost interest and come to terms with the fact that all you can do is vote with your feet, if I didn't have a locked in part exchange price and a perfectly good MK6 GTI to drive then I would have cancelled weeks ago.I think this will be the last new VW I buy.
Golfgti build quality is average at best.
