Hi Neil,

I see you were bw28. I was bw27 and collected mine towards the end of last week. You should have your car no later than the end of next week I would have thought

That would be nice, but as the car didn't leave the factory until last Wednesday (despite being BW28) I've resigned myself to mid-late August, and hence waiting until 1st September for the new plate.  But if it did arrive as early as next week I might have to rethink that

My car has arrived in the UK and it's just waiting for a car transporter.

Great news - not long now then!  Mine seems to have disappeared into some kind of Bermuda Triangle - according to the dealer it's been showing as en route from Wolfsburg to Emden for 2 weeks now. I thought that stage was meant to take 24 hours! Ah well, as long as it's ready for 2nd September I'll be happy.

Mine has arrived at the dealer and I could collect next week. I know I have previously mentioned that as I am buying with my own cash ( belay that: with mainly bank's cash) and ,conscious of residuals if I survive to sell or trade in in 3/4 years, am I mad to delay the pleasure of taking delivery now?

In all honesty, these days with two changes a year, it doesn't make a huge difference in relative terms, and value is based on first registration date anyway.  The question is, if you collected next week on a 13 plate, how would you feel when the 63 plate cars came out?!  Not sure what I'd do - waiting over two weeks knowing your car is sat there...  :undecided:

I would wait the extra 2 weeks. Some will view that as 6 months older than a 63 plate when you sell or p/x, some won't.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....
