More good news!

Currently working some night shifts and took the advantage to put the car on the weighbridge.....

With half a tank of fuel it's giving a reading of 1160kg to the nearest 20! so it's between 1150-1170kg

My old 5 door weighed 1340kg

so the 3 door is about 1310kg so I've managed to strip around 150kg which I'm pretty happy about considering it now has a roll cage!

Good effort.

See if the smoke clears up when you've got the clutch swapped over and you've taken it out for a bloody good spank.

Please spend some time motivating Dave, if possible.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Ok update from yesterday!

Got the box back on and also fitted the poly filled engine mounts!

http://youtu.be/IVpITVC9YKc

And got it all back together!

engine is solid with both poly'd mounts!

quick vid of Ryan trying to move the engine! Haha

http://youtu.be/AOaZqILDdyM

The clutch is now holding nicely with no slipping!

But I had a misfire oon cylinder 2 under load so I switched the coilpack for a spare and it was still missin so I switched it with another spare which was ok for a short while and then started misfiring again

i then fitted a fairly new coil which made it better then it had been before but by the time we got around the block it started feeling a tad like it was starting to miss again but I couldn't check as the laptop had run out of battery....

sooooo the car is eating coilpacks on cylinder two haha

first protocol tomorrow is to check the plugs are tight and check the condition/gap. They were ok when I fitted them but need to eliminate them as the problem

Anyone have any other ideas what might be causing the problem?

Cheers lads

oh 1 mmore thing when it's was running right it was pulling like a train!! Just new the map to be tweeked

Ok I thinks it about time for a update!!

Sorry but I have minimum pictures as I haven't done many big jobs!

I replaced the coilpack with a we unit and upto now it's been fine so I'm hoping I just a a bunch of spares that were naff haha

i the. Started gettin a over boosting issue and a code was coming up with map sensor signal too high I have since replaced it with a new one from tps and all is good!

Me and the lass ha a bungee jump in Manchester and with that drive included I have currently got 170 miles to half a tank so pretty impressed! Haha

A few negative points to mention

The blue smoke I have been getting I think is from the turbo oil seals!

When I pulled my map sensor out I got some oil dripping from the hole so I removed the lower boost pipe and there was a nice sized puddle of oil

It's annoyed me quite a bit as I bought the k04-001 from backdraft about 16 months ago with a hefty price tag and its always been taken car of.

i contacted backdraft but apparently Borgwarner don't give it a warrenty as its a upgrade part and not a standard part

So I'm a bit stuck on what to do about it as I was thinking of geti a bigger turbo an jut using this one to run in the engine when it's built but obviate I don't want to be burning loads f oil in the new engine!

A couple of other things is the rear heated window doesn't work (going to check all the wirin and fuses) and I get red hot air coming through the vents even when it's on cold and no fans running haha

i also did some logs with showed good afr etc

I also logged the maf and got a peak of 196gs which works out at roughly 245bhp using the /0.8 method.

And ideas/advice etc throw it at me

Just found a company called xspower from the USA who do a k04-001 delivered for £280 so might do that while I run the engine in and sort a bigger turbo!

Ok so it's seems like I haven't done anything in ages!

BUT my holidays are over and I arrived home to this!

It's the k04-001 I ordered from Xs- power
It's pretty much the same as the Chinese turbos but I hve been told the compressor is bigger then the usual 001! I have asked them to email me the full spec sheet but I have taken a quick (rough ruler) measurement of the inlet I.d which measured 43.5mm

I will be fitting it tomorrow as well as maybe a few other small jobs and then I will be checking it over with vcds (afr etc) to make sure it's safe to run and then hopefully pop down to the r-tech charity day on Sunday!!

A few more pictures...

Vs a k03s

And gasket set

And I also forgot to mention I bought I new wide angle rear view mirror
