Although I appreciate that you're just using it as a cut-off I would absolutely recommend you ensure you put that resistor and earth on in the correct position, or if you use it when running you'll fry the alternator, as it's still generating while the motor comes to a stop with the cut off shut off: the charge generated has nowhere to go.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Battery needs to a sealed unit in a box with a vent to the outside, much safer.

Ok so back off holiday and back to work!

Both myaum ecus arrived back from r-tech after have the immo defeated whiles i was away so got around to fitting them.

i fitted the standard one on to the daily and it runs perfect

but i have fitted my mapped one to my arz track car with wideband conversion and as soon as i put the ignition on the fans kick in....then go off....then kick in....then off....then in and so on

with the original arz ecu plugged in the car is fine but its does the fan thing with both of my aum ecu's!!

from what i can see on autodata the ecu pin outs on both the arz and aum ecus are the same or am i missing somethin??

i have full vagcom and autodata so can look into things but dont know what to look for!

its confusing the hell out of me!!

can anybody help?

good news is it runs with the mapped aum ecu plugged in and sounds nice and smooth
i brought up block 31,32,33 on vcds and the lambda specified is flutuating around .95 on idle that about right?

i also got around to making a box for the battery. Haven't got any photos buts its not finished yet so will take a few tomorrow

i have also decided i am going to switch the isolator for a connector block as i dont have a need to isolate it at that point and it doesnt have any pins oin the back etc like the fia ones so would need to change it anyway!

Solve the problem of the fans kicking in!

With a little help from a few lads on vagtalk and trawling through autodata I found 3 extra wires on the arz Ecu plugs

Two are spare cable and one ( pin 61) is somethin to do with the aircon. Removing this pin (as advised ) has solved the problem

Also got the battery box to the point where it needs welding

Also Cut the exhaust tip to get rid of the rolled edge

Then a new problem!
Bleeding the brakes

Bled the whole system starting furthest away from MC
Bled MC
Bled abs pump on vcds
 Brakes feel crap and spongy

Bled it all again, and again and again and still I can't get then right  :undecided:

I hate brakes! Haha

Been messing with vcds and did a full scan and good news being there isn't excessive codes! Just the expected ones:

Vvt as its missing on the arz
Airbag codes as its all missing
And another minor one which I can't remember

Can I get rid of the airbag light using full vcds 11?

Also I noticed my coilpacks seem to be acting strange.....
With ignition on bolts across all 4 are the same (about 3.3v)
But at 2000rpm 2 are 2v ish and 2 are 0.9v surely this isn't right??

Working shifts for a few days now so won't get much time to do anythin but any help/advice is highly appreciated!

Small update, new windscreen has been fitted by Autoplus windscreens

Also returned all the brakes and wheels on the daily back to standard

Adjusted the passenger seat so it's a better position now and also been messing switching radios over etc
Have got some pictures but just need to upload them!

Update with a few pictures  :cool

Exhaust after cutting tip

The battery box!
Just needs the edges of the lid welding together and then a few hols drilling to bolt it all up and to vent it to atmosphere

Windscreen got replaced by Autoplus  pretty cheap at £98 fitted so I guess its the best of a bad situation

Also the interior trim around the stereo was a mess but i couldnt be bothered to paint it so i bought some 4D carbon wrap nice and cheap and wrapped it all up! came out quite nice
Also decided to get rid of the protective film i had and the cage bars to stop me scuffing the paint with my feet and replace it with carbon wrap as it looked rubbish

I then got around to making the heat shield i have been planning
Cutouts and the template

In position!

Just need a nice big holesaw now

Thats it for now need to get the battery box sorted
fit the boost gauge
and then try get some insurance and MOT it

Ok so another update!
Been busy with training courses at work so not had loads of time lately but managed to get a bit done!

Did some cutting of the bumper so it now fits with the intercooler.
How it looks

Also some more goodies arrived!

Ordered a afff foam extinguisher and some driving shoes from jjc rally
The shoes were only cheap compared to the likes of sparco etc but seem very comfy and are also very lightweight and have quite abit of flesh to keep your feet cool

Also i ordered a set of holesaws and some rubber seal....with a bit off playing with the heatshield this is what i came out with!

I will be getting a new *Bigger* air filter but this one is ok for now

And installed

I also got around to fitting the fire extinguisher ....

And then managed to give the wheels a clean and get them all fitted!!

I'm happy to say that if i'm correct the car is ready for MOT!
just need to have a last check around tighten a couple of things etc and its ready
And another piece of good news i managed to sort the insurance!!
20 year old, 3 years ncb, all mods declared with adrien flux for £1200

so its MOT, tax and then drive it around and sort all the expected niggles (suspension height, tracking, and anything else that pops up!
