Think it's time to admit defeat
« on: 14 August 2012, 17:27 »
Ok I think it's time I give in and admit defeat.
Now the brakes are failing. Checked all the pipe and bless the breaks just now asy mate came over.
Car breaks still bad and pedal slowly drops to the floor with engine running.

As alot of you no I was made redundant before Xmas and still can't find work.
This was going to be a badger project to see how far I could get on a very tight cash flow.
Well the MOT is next Tuesday and it still has rot on the sills as pictured in my build thread.
Wiper motor has gone
What I think is master cylinder gone
Rocker cover gasket needs replacing
Manifold is blowing
And needs new tyres on the rear.
Who ever had the car before me removed the abs light bulb aswell so god knows if that works.
And what ever els it may fail on.

I have it ago but think its time to admit defeat.
Sell it for parts as mint interior engines great. Brand new coilys.
So I can save for a good one.

What do you guys recon? Is it time to give up on this one?

One thing that is gona be a bigger to sell is my coilys as the car still needs to be able to be rolled onto a car transporter to scrap it once stripped. How do I sell the coilys and still be able to do this?

Think my mate with the anni may want them actually so yeah could swap.

Also I'm not really feeling the love for this one if in honest. Kinda lost interest. It's a lovely looking car and the paint is pretty much mint on this one.
Think it may also be the fact I want to do things like I always have in the past to my cars but I just can't afford to do anything.
I need a car and it will be a long time till I can afford to put it back on the road.
Doubt it's worth much as a hole even with mint paint mint interior and full service history as it needs abit of welding and a few little things fixing. I just can't afford them at the mo.

You could just split it all up, all the panels interior ect. I recon you could do alright from it if its the road you want to go, more money then scrapping it. Front wings, doors, bumpers, coileys, engine, gearbox, lights, grille, bonnet, wing mirrors, wheels,  boot lid list goes on! If you did split it i wish i was a bit closer to you tbh haha

If it needs loads of work then chuck it. The money can go towards a better one in the future when you're ready

Yeah I was just adding up a the really nice bits like wings and stuff and recon I could make a decent amount of cash then it wouldn't take long to save the rest for a nice one.

Spose it's a very good thing it's the most common colour and the paint is mint. What price would mint dragon green wings boot lids doors and stuff go for you recon each?
