Should you not bang it in for MOT and see what happens? All of those bits you think need doing aren't too bad are they? Got mot on ours on Friday - will see if it's as good as I think it is or turns out to be a heap! Lol!

+1 to this. You could then sell it with a years ticket if not too bad to get it thru

Each yh, strip them down and sell the regulator etc separately but make this obvious to anyone purchasing them.

^^This, see what repairs are needed then work out the next step as required.

Put your cv on cv library and hopefully you'll get lucky. I know a few people, myself included who've had a few jobs offered to them in the last few weeks. Then maybe you could park it for a while till you can get cracking

I feel for you mate, personally i'd also chuck through an mot first then go from there, laying cars up until things get better always sounds like a good idea but 99% of the time you just lose interest and never get round to sorting them out and its nearly always cheaper to sort a few problems out and keep a car than chop it in for something worse.

Yeah I see wt your all saying but £60 for an mot and it fails is £60 towards a new one I don't really want to loose.
I no for a fact it's going to fail on brakes rust rear tyres. And then it will sit in my garage and I will never have the cash to put it all right.
But I could sell all my good bits and the parts and make enough be be very close to buying another one. In better shape. Also have the SEAT wheels I'm custom painting that I am going to Finnish and ither sell or keep if I decide im getting another gti. Also wouldn't mind a 16v this time

I'm confident I can wheeler dealer my way out of this and get a decent mk3 again.
Just watch this space
