I was expecting something on the same or similar scale as the Beijing Opening ceremony. The narrative structure was interesting and I guess played to the strengths of Danny Boyle.
I wasn't comparing Queen 1986 to London 2012. The comparison was Queen 1986 stadium gig to Ed Sheeren live at the Hammersmith Apollo. The difference in scale and production value was what I was trying to point out. I guess you could interchange Queen with U2's Zooropa tour or even Take That's Progress concert. Beijing 2008 was a stadium gig and London 2012 was an intimate gig at the Appollo was my point.
The disappointment stems from that we missed an opportunity have a narrative of the history of the UK with the production value of Beijing 2008. This is scale
