Guys, something else I've just noticed that seems a bit weird. Does your gear stick feel quite loose when in gear, 2nd is probably the worst, I've done a video, it seems to go into gear fine, if I'm being picky it's a bit noisy but it's always gone straight into gear

Cheers  :sad:

Plllllllease? Someone with a mk6, preferably a GTI, but any will do?  :cry:

Need to know whether to take it back to VW or not.  :sick:

Just tried mine. There is a degree of free play from side to side when in gear, but I wouldn't say it feels loose.

Do you know anyone else with a manual mk6 Golf near to you that you could check yours against? The only way you'll really be able to tell if yours is the same or different to other mk6's is through 'feel'. Alternatively, if your dealer has another GTI in the showroom or a used one for sale, can you ask them if you can check yours against theirs?

2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

Just a thought... Does the dealership you take you car to not have another gti on the sitting on the forecourt that you can drive with one of the mechanics so you can compare etc?

Cheers guys. That's my next thought, if I somehow managed to get a GTI for the week if they have one there, used or whatever, and if I cannot replicate the "problems" then it puts no doubt in my mind that it's my car, but if I can then I'll have to accept them as "features" lol

Thanks for checking all, kinda sh1tty that it moves around so much. I'm still going to see if anything can be done about it, but glad (in a way) to know it's not just me.
