Thanks for the replies btw guys, appreciate it. I'll have to call AGAIN tomorrow and book the car in. No doubt there will be a 2 week wait.

just a thought but could the jerkiness be down to an engine mount? that would make pulling away smoothly and jerking on acceleration happen.

hope you find the problem

I've had my GTI since March 2012 and so far I've had:

A new water pump
Wind noise fix
Gearstick greased as it was creaking
CV gaitors greased as they were noisey

It's currently with VW and their diagnosics equipment has noticed my remap  so VW UK had to be informed (apparently it's flagged up on the diags and sent to VW UK along with a full fault scan - nothing the dealer could do)

This week (and probably next) they're looking at:

Fixing bonnet alignment (done apparently)
Fixing xenon alignment as they blind everyone else on the road at the mo (also done apparently)
P0299 code - underboost - probably due to map but wanted them to pressure test the system and check common things like DV, PCV
Wastegate rattle (part ordered and being fitted today)
And most importantly, the clutch slip I've experienced, they've finally noticed some fluid leaking from the gearbox, not sure what as they left me a message but it's being stripped down and a few parts have been ordered in advance, so hopefully I can get that resolved once and for all! But of an awkward one with the remap though as I don't want them to strip it all down and then invoice me as VW UK won't cover the warranty

Time shall tell.

Also the door seals are very noisey but I'll sort them out myself

Not a great VW experience, and I must say worse than my Audi experience and that made me get rid of the A3, so next car is definitely looking like it won't be VAG!

Hi Scott,

Are you still dealing with Chester Volkswagen?

Hi mate, I am indeed. I must admit Chester VW have been fantastic. It's not their fault that the car is a bag of sh1te and they're always helpful. Like I said before I feel like a right pain as I keep going back !!

Guys, something else I've just noticed that seems a bit weird. Does your gear stick feel quite loose when in gear, 2nd is probably the worst, I've done a video, it seems to go into gear fine, if I'm being picky it's a bit noisy but it's always gone straight into gear

Just a thought... Does the dealership you take you car to not have another gti on the forecourt that you can drive with one of the mechanics so you can go compare! ?
