Just caught this thread. Can I just say NO!

It's a really ugly car. It may be great, but it's sooooo ugly. Sorry  :undecided:

Not sure it's ugly, and even if it were the roar of 3 litres of pure twin turbo power, torque and tuned growel from the exhaust should take your mind off it..

It's not just me that finds it aesthetically displeasing, you just have to do a little search on the net and you'll find plenty (and i really mean most) of other people agree....

Heres just one of many

It's the Waynetta Slob of cars. Nobody wants to be seen, or caught inside it!

lol, that's the standard one they're refering to.  Do you think the Golf S looks stunning?

The M135i looks superb imo and as these other people won't be helping me out with funding it, I couldn't give a sh!t what these 'pros' think.

Not sure that I will wait for the Mk7 Golf (R) either. Seriously tempted by the Merc A class AMG and it looks like it'll be around the same price as the BMW and probably the MK7 Golf R. Going to be available earlier as well by the looks of it.

Yep, that's on my radar too

Also lined up firmly in BMW’s sights is the soon-to-be-revealed Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, which is expected to reach Britain early next year bearing a similar price tag and packing 335bhp from a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, an all-wheel-drive system and double-clutch transmission; all-new aerodynamics, a stiffer suspension system, bigger brakes and an upgraded interior. I didn't think there could be anything uglier than a 1 series but Mercedes have managed it, what happened to curves.

Is a 1 series about the same size as a Polo, maybe we should be comparing it to a Polo GTI, looks a bit expensive then.
