Hi all

Was just check my oil and coolant levels and noticed an unplugged hole in the top of the gearbox, I am unsure how long it has been like this but it was a surprise to me!

Is this what I need to replace it?

No thats the end cap for the gear box. What you need is a flywheel bung. You will get it cheap from the dealers if needs be.

Yep to keep muck out from hitting the flywheel just dont put gear box oil down it

Unless you're regularly throwing crud into your engine bay, from the top it does nothing. I wouldn't bother replacing it.

I would pop one in - if its a couple of quid - cheaper than having to have a gearbox fixed....
