Oil leak! :(

Ok so had a slight oil leak dripping off the bottom of the sump, so I traced it and it seemed to be comin futon the bottom aux pulley so I assumed that it was the crankshaft seal.
So as I would have to remove the timing belt to get to the deal I bought a new cambelt kit tensioner dampened Pump etc so I could get it all done in one 

So this week I did the cambelt and seal which is a bit of a pain and then found it hadnt sorted the leak do I got another seal and today Once again removed the seal timing belt etc and again replaced the seal with a new one. Finally got it all done an tested the car by driving it round he block as it only leaks after you drive it. Parked on the drive only to find the leak is even worse! 
Could see the drips from where I had reversed in and after only about 30 seconds there was this....



I'm stayin to run out of idea and pretty fed up as I have had a crazy busy week as I also did my turbo and my aux belt kept flicking off and been tryin to get the new rear brakes fit and everything has been going ok till this 

Has anyone else got any ideas?

Clean it all off, then start it and see if you can see 100% where it is leaking from

When I stripped it done there was a smal puddle of oil sat in the recess where the seal is and it was on the back of the lower cambelt cover, there is also no runs of oil going down to this point so pretty sure it's coming from here, but to start it and look I need all the aux belt off but could try tommorow

maybe be of no use to you as its a totally different engine, but i had the same problem on my kit car i replaced the front crankcase oil seal as it was leaking , still leaked so did it again still leaked so sripped the full enginge down for a rebuild lightened and balanced whilst i was there. any way it still leaked ffs ! so after another new seal it tuned out to be a hairline crack in the crankcase cover that cost me a couple of quid to fix, not the £1000+ i spent on the rebuild but, hey it does go a lot better now

Ok mate cheers fOr the info will have a check when I strip it back down but I'm  :undecided:sure it's somethin to do with the seal as it got worse.
What's annoying me most is I'm ready to book my map and this is te only thing stopping me

Did you clean the surface of any particles and oil before installing the new seal and leave the seal to sit for 4 hours before filling the engine with oil?

I cleaned all the surface before I put in the new seal but I didn't remove the oil so didnt it leave for four hours, didn't know you had to

Yeah used a Vw seals even tho they do cost £15! For a puny lip seal

I'm lost then, can't see several VW seals all failing unless they're giving you the wrong one.

Well I've got one more that I found in the garage yesterday so gonna strip it back down and while I'm there I'm gonna have a vigorous check for any cracks etc and hopefully it will sort it 

I'm tellin you I'm gonna be a cambelt expert after all this
