rear knocking after shocks change...

Hello

Changed my rear shocks last night for a pair of Meyle ones, old ones had oil leaks and generally buggered.

Knocking from the o/s/r now when bumpy roads, not all the time.  Can't get it to make a noise when bouncing or rocking the car by hand.

Any ideas?  Sounds like the shock bouncing the in the turret?

Did you check the top mounts on replacement?

oh yes, just going to add - new top mounts and new bump stop & covers fitted.

Assembled incorrectly maybe or could the soggy old shocks have been masking worn out rear beam bushes?

assembled fine,and same for both sides, was very careful to strip and rebuild as was originally built.  Could be beam bushes I guess.

and for laughs the old shocks - can you tell which failed the MOT....?

Did you tighten the top nut with the weight of the car on it, worth checking they are tight in anycase.
