an update on this saga...

basically when my car was brand new it was delivered with a damaged headlight so it was renewed under warranty - i insisted i wanted to swap it out myself but they had none of it...

when the 'mechanic' threw my car back together i was left with a misaligned grill, light was fitted crooked and the bumper forced on snapping some of the tabs.

after lots of back and forth to the dealership they wouldn't renew my bumper with a new cars as they only have ED35 in stock so it was either have a new bumper painted or leave it.

i wanted my car left original so would not accept any replacement parts unless painted from the factory.

i decided to get a new bracket at the dealers expense and fit it myself as i didn't want anyone messing with my car again

so today bumper and headlight off, new bracket on and bumper back on and everything realigned. job done

all done with 1 hand as my right hand/arm has a full plaster cast on...

basically the alignment of the front bumper/wing had a 3mm step due to it being forced on and some clips being snapped.
before

during

after

well pleased with the panel gaps and fitment now despite the very end bumper clip being completely snapped.

moral of the story if you want something done right do it yourself.

Looks like the pot they give you when you've fractured your scaphoid.  I did my right one in about 10 years ago and it was a proper bugger as I even had to have all my food cut up.

Get better soon.

Has anyone touched up or sorted out the flaking paint from the rear arch/bumper? I had the same on my Ibis White A3 (which I touched up with paint, but it kept flaking) and the same with my GTI now, albeit the GTI looks worse. I must admit I pressure washed it the other week and saw some more come off lol
