Talk about making a meal out of it! God!

Hopefully that has sorted that issue out, get the battery sorted and then the paint. Will there be any other things that need sorting?

Good work so far and good to see you getting stuck in straight away! :afro:

Tell me about it mate! Apart from this and a service including thermostat, everything else is just superficial. Apart from that arch, the rest of the bodywork should just require a good detail to sort out. Oh and a torn bolster but I'm just gonna stick a patch over that for now.

I know, bloody typical! Mind you, I knew they weren't working properly when I bought it. My own stupid fault really.

Meh, if you knew that when you bought it then you must of been happier about more important things and the car overall.  Plus I'm sure this issue would have assisted with price haggling.

Well, being the tool I am, I locked the only key in the car with it running! Central locking has an annoying habit of springing back and locking itself. Battery provided enough juice to get it started this morning, so cracked on bleeding the coolant after replacing matrix. On the plus side, I have warm air now (not hot as it also needs a new stat), but didn't notice the locks spring back. Realised the error of my ways, and had to pull master ht lead to cut it out. Then had to disconnect the battery again as it was still sparking! £50 an hour locksmith (who's on his way), and a new battery also required! Nothing but problems with this car so far, but I suppose that's the beauty of older cars and the reason I love it!
