Never ever ever except their first offer if they write it off. I wrote off the mini a couple of years back and they offered me £300. THe car is worth £5000!!!!!!!! I managed to get £1,500 and rebuilt it myself. Mine was a front ender and the cost of replacing the whole front end with steel was pricey cause I can't weld. Luckily for me minis rock and I now have a one piece removeable complete carbon fibre front end. Not only was it cheaper but when you flip it open you can see the weave. Creams the girlies pants I can tell you.

Anyway the moral of the story is fight for your money, then get it repaired by people whowon't charge you an arm and a leg. It should be possible to get that repaired for about a grand if you know the right people and canget panels cheap.

Good luck fella I know how you feel.

Nick

Still no word from the Insurance Company as yet - I must say I've been very unimpressed with their service (Tesco Insurance).

I phoned for an update and was told I needed to fill out an accident report form that would be in the post at the end of the day. I got home to one - surely they could have seen it had already been sent?

After I recieved it I sent it back the next day as I'd already prepared a report using Visio. I phoned them for an update 5 days later and they said they've sent out a reminder (snotty letter u mean!) for me to return it as nothing can be done until it's been seen.

I went on to explained I sent it back the next day and enquired on their internal post performance as I could sent/email a further copy; I was told it usually takes a good few days to get to the right office, so they're sending me snotty letters when they're more than likely sitting on it!

No word on the valuation either - one phone call in 3 weeks and that was only an introduction, no initial formal offer at all surely it's not that hard!

Ssurely with the amount we pay you should get a decent level of service ???

I would get a Non runner and swap the bits over to fix this top car m8.
Insurance is best done by gettin a value for the car first as they will give peanuts for the car.
Plus they will try there best to get out of paying up. I had a major headache getting money from a company who's lorry had dropped stones all over the front of my car on the motorway resulting in 20 bad stone chips and three chips in the screen and a broken headlight . It was a gravel lorry.... I was asked for an independant witness   Tossers (excuse the rant) where are you gonna get one of them doin 80 on a motorway??? So they wouldn't admit fault so ive got chips still!! I costed it up and it was £800 for a proper job . i had chips on the bonnet front panel roof sunroof top of my door tops of wings.. It did a proper job but im left unable to get anything
