1.8t ftw, quite a simple conversion now, especially with a GTI and even more so with a valver. A tuned K04 lump is more than enough for a bit of fun.

There is a PnP kit for the 2.0T now isnt there?

using the stock bosch med9 ecu apparently too. i think possibly qpeng have figured out which parts of the loom you can do away with, de-immoblised the ecu and turned off some of the can related shiz.

i might have to have a bash.. :nerd:

topher who does the BAM engine loom modding and how much would it cost to do? as im too thinking about going down kells route as my mates a mech and knows his stuff about the bams (he has a cupra R BAM remapped) and i drove it and felt just like mine but with LOADS more powaaah. another reason is that the 1.8t is alot more fuel eco than my 8v or a VRG  and he pushed me to go for the BAM lump :lipsrsealed:

it has to be the mk3 16v loom or could it be the mk3 8v loom? what about the ecu?

also does the MFA work with the modded loom?

I guess ideally you would want the loom for the car you are going from so you can use the same fan control switch relay and a couple other things I cant remember off the top of my head, 99% of the plugs are the same on all mk3s for the things you will be keeping so it doesnt matter too much. I used a 16v loom as I couldn't send him my 8v loom due to my car being my daily driver. Drop him a pm, he's the most helpful guy in the world no question is too much and I should know with the amount of random noob questions I sent his way while I was doing mine

Everything including mfa works just as it did in the mk3, only thing that wont work out the box so to speak is oil temp but that can be fixed by adding a t-piece with a temp sensor into one of the pressure sensor lines
