Yes but he might get a nice pay off if they haven't done it by the book, i took an old company i worked for to tribunal was awarded £8000 in compensation. I did the whole thing myself it involves a bit of work but always worth a try. Cab will tell you if they think you have a case ?

Now u can see why Unions in the workplace are a good idea.Not only do cost very little in membership fees they stop   "DICTATORSHIP MANAGEMENT " doing what the F**K they like to their employee's.Gone are the days when Unions would just walk-out and all the stigma that went with Unions and what they stood for.I know alot of you out there will say,"Unions are just for strikes"but that is not true.They are there to protect peoples rights in the workplace,and striking is the last resort.If Unions did not exist we would all be paid S**T wages,work in S**T conditions and be treated like S**T.I can only say that if i were your Union rep Daz-Veedub,you would not have been dismissed.Your company has clearly flouted the "Disciplinary Procedure",thats if they even had one?.My condolences to you m8,but i think your only course of action now is to talk to CAB with the eye to a possible Tribunal hearing.

Bullsh!t how would my employer even know i took a company to a tribunal ? Thats a myth dodgy companies will tell you to stop you doing it. Employers have a duty to do things correctly if they don't then they should be dealt with. We have procedure after procedure we have to go through if we want to get rid of someone, we do it all by the book that way we don't leave ourselves open to anything.

It also doesn't take years mine took about 6 months.

You usually find its your Rep that's useless Len not your Union.Alot of people volunteer to be a Union Rep but do not do the relevent courses and are sometimes mesmirised by Management Bulls**t.

No not bullsh!t, the business world is a small one and word gets around locally. And its not a myth i've seen it first hand.
